Westside Makes You Sexy

I never have much to say other than to gawk at your awesomness.

If the problem is biceps, do you have problems with curls, rows or chins?

Shucks. I appreciate that. Now I feel like I should do something actually awesome.

Nice numbers git.

Not sure about Farmer, but I don’t have any issues if I do a reasonable warm up.

I have decided that I must be stronger than you so I would appreciate it if you took say a five year sabbatical.

Dude, thanks.

Joe, you are already stronger than me on pressing and not far behind on the rest.

I’m always late but great pull git. I’ve got the red and black mini bands I use from time to time when pulling, basically put the on the bar about where your feet would be then stand on them. Make sure they are secured on the balls of your feet, if they’re to much on the toe the can and will come off.

Hey dday, thanks for popping in. Since I have a power rack I am hoping to rig up some pins that I can hook the bands to for deads and bench. But, the rack isn’t secured to the floor (yet) so I’m probably going to need to ghetto something up with heavy dumbbels to keep everything secure.

But I like your idea for pulling as an easy way to just set up and go. That might be my starting point.

Bands are here. Time to hang out on EliteFTS and read up on how to program these in.

New toys!

When you buy bands, you REALLY buy bands.

I have the same problem with bands and the rack. For deads i put each end over an end of the bar and stand on them, i have to check the poundages but somewhere around 150lbs of band resistance at top with the heavier bands.
For bench i put one end of a band under a small db and loop it through the other end so it is looped around the db then run it under a heavy db up to the bar. It locks the little db in next to big one and give you good tension at top of bench but light at bottom of bench. Boy those are hard to explain. If you are interested in pics i can post them. Enjoy the bands.

Nice pulling - training is looking solid.

nice new toys.

That made perfect sense. Thanks.

Yeah for bands! New toys are fun

Hmm…this DB rhomboid row intrigues me…I’ll have to look this up!

Strong lifting Git. Good stuff!

Maschy in da house! Hi Maschy.
I just hope I don’t hurt myself with my new toys. I’m imagining them pile-driving me into the floor. Note to self…always use power rack pins.
Actually, I think they will work out well. First impressions tonight hopefully.

The rhomboid thing I got from Dan John. Here is the article

Squats

255 x 3
290 x 3
330 x 2…vid. Lame. My squat is off about 30lbs for some reason. It’s a long haul to 405. I feel like the weight is too far forward. Also, it is hard to squat when there is an 8 year old staring at you from 5 feet away. Also, I narrowed my stance a bit but I don’t like how that feels. And my low back is tweaked a bit. I’m feeling some leg pain even though I’m foam rolling like a mofo. And I’m trying a new maxi pad and it doesn’t fit right. Ultra thin my ass. Anyway, always something to work on.

Below parallel to 3/4 continuous reps
225 x 5, 6, 5

We unpacked the bands but didn’t get to try them. Mostly my daughter did some rows with one that I attached to the rack. She attempted some chins, did some DB curl and press and a couple of sets DB bench. Worked on her BW squat for a bit.

Dammit, I saw “toys” repeated like, 3 times and each time thought of the wrong type of toy. Hmph.

Riiiiggghhht?!
I would say that you’re full of excuses but I like a wide stance myself.

You crazy kids and your toys. We’re talking XBox or PSP here right? Oh, waitaminute…

Yeah, squats. I just need to pick a comfortable groove and stick with it.

195 x 0…WTF
195 x 0…WTF!! Would have been a PR. Lockout, Work it.
