Haha. Well, as long as we can work out some sort of reciprocal arrangement…

Chest plus stuff

So, I’ve apparently forgotten how to bench. It has been a while. Not tight, flaring arms, not using lats to for control, not driving with legs at the right time…craptastic.

Bench

  • approx. 10 sets of 3 using 190-210lbs
  • the last two sets were probably the best
  • more consistent lifting will fix this (the better weather will make this easier)

Decline bench

  • haven’t done these in years
  • meh

Incline bench

  • 3 x 10-8
  • I like the Meadows advice to stop a few inches from touching upper chest to take stress off shoulders.

Lying triceps extensions
3 x 12

Spider curls
3 x 10

That incline bench trick works? Cool. Gotta try that.
Lookie there, Git: beauty and brains. 8th wonder of the world.

Flattery will get you everywhere…speaking of which, where should we go? I was thinking about California. I remember driving on the Pacific Coast Highway years ago. Some great food along there too. Probably find you a Cinnabon for dessert if you like.

Nice pressing.

Go to Cozumel, warm blue water and good tequila.

You had me at “where should we go?”
I hopped in your passenger seat at “find you a Cinnabon for dessert”

LOL @ Joe planning the trip

Legs
I’m going to go back to a pseudo 5/3/1 template for a couple of months and see how it goes. I picked up where I left off a couple months ago.

Squats - i would have to check but it’s been several weeks since I switched to front squats. Hey, guess what? If you stop squatting you start to suck at squatting.
235 x 5
280 x 5
310 x 5…that was harder than it should have been

Front squats with a pause at bottom
190 x 3,3,3

RDL
140 x 5
235 x 3
285 x 3
330 x 3
370 x 8…PR +20lbs (vid)

Leg curl
12, 10, 6 + partials to failure

Those are some badass RDL’s.

Thanks Joe.

love the collapse at the end…

and Joe is right - they are badass, great stretch at the bottom!

Huge RDL’s nice work

Shoulders…commercial at lunch time.

Gym is quiet these days. They opened a new shiny one not far away. I forgot my iPod so I had to listen to horrible top 40 = sad.
But my hot MILF friend with her new, perfectly sized for her physique boobs was there = happy.

Military
110 x 5
125 x 5
145 x 5

Seated DB - very high incline
40 x 4
50 x 4
65 x 4
70 x 4
75 x 3

Seated laterals
20 x 12
25 x 12
30 x 6 + partials to failuer
25 x 6 + partials to failure

Wide grip upright rows
100 x 8
110 x 8, 8

370 x 8 for RDLs is HUUUUGE!

Me thinks it’s time you had a crack at a 500 lb deadlift.

I think you’re good for it.

FB, I’m embarassed to say but I actually don’t remember the last time I deadlifted. It’s been literally weeks. My schedule has been completely out of whack.

But I’m determined to get some structure back. Hence the move back to 5/3/1. Well, kinda. I’m going to keep reps lower on the main movements and get my singles in.

I really do appreciate youur confidence. 500 is a goal of mine. Time to go get it! I’m under 200lbs so a 2.5xbw DL would be kinda neat.

Especially in yoga pants and a new sassy cut and auburn hair color.

No way to have a bad session when there’s eye candy.

Those heavy weights give me some insight into the convo: “Hey MILF. Oh these weights? Just my deload week.”

ditto. 370 for 8 on RDL’s is massive.
