Now theres a social network who’s time has come.
I eagerly googled “meatbook”. Results were a bit disappointing, actually.
Fixed that for ya.
Seriously, meatbook sounds like a great idea for the ladies. My inbox awaits your submission, gentlemen! Feel free to PM anytime.
I think there is a market for “snatchbook” as well.
For Olympic lifters, of course. A bit niche but I’m looking for business ideas. Can I make money at this somehow?
Waitaminute…you’re an Oly lifter. PM me. We’ll make a fortune together.
Meatbook, Snatchbook, cracking nuts with your ass, box squats, speed pulls, KB swings, voyeurism.
Man, this log has everything!

And don’t forget Maschy’s new avi. That alone is worth the price of admission.

Sorry, did you say something? I was staring at Maschy’s new avi.

What? Sorry, I was distracted.
So, I was shopping with my 9 year old daughter last night.
She turns to me and says, “Dad, do you ever think that we may not actually be awake and that everything we see is not real?”.
“Uh, did read this in a book or see it in a movie?”
“No. I was just thinking.”
Then we had a nice little chat about philosophy. And then we bought the new MegaDeath CD for my brother, lol.
DE Upper
Speed bench
115 + doubled minis (reds). Change from 135 + doubled micro-minis. Quite a bit more tension.
12 x 3…change grip every set
CG Bench
135 x 3
185 x 4
205 x 3
215 x 3.75…couldn’t lock out left arm. Would have been a PR.
185 x 5
185 x 5
DB rows (both arms)
65s x 3 x 15
…alternate with
CG bench
135 x 3 x 10
One-arm band extensions (stolen from Dave Tate)
x 5 x 10-15 alternating each arm
then x 30 using both hands…pumptastic
Appears that left arm is slightly weaker so I’ll keep some unilateral work in.
I haven’t read about shoulder warmup prior to benching, but I know you do it right?
I 'm kinda surprised you are just now using double minis on speed. It is a jump in tension alright. I found moving up to double minis on DE bench took a toll on my old shoulders, so I’m probably staying with micros and chains. Chains don’t seem to be so bad on the joints.

I don’t do anything fancy (bands mostly) but I get some warmup stuff in.
I’m still finding my way regarding bands, straight weight vs. band tension, etc. I liked the feel of the double minis. Hit my wimpy triceps pretty hard.
Micros + chains, eh? Interesting. I haven’t figured out where to add chains so this is a good place to start. This reminds me to get a new cutting wheel so I can cut the chains I have to length.
awesome bench PR parade you had a couple of days ago.
nut-crackin ass, must remember that one.
wife is a beauty, glad you had a fun weekend.
your little shed is starting to be all grown up now ![]()
^^ Hi Mainy! Always more sparkly in here when you visit.
ME Lower
Trap bar - low handles
135 x 3
225 x 3
315 x 3
405 x 1
455 x 1
475 x 1
495 x 1 (vid). Probably should have put 500 on just because.
Block pulls
135 x 3
225 x 3
315 x 3
405 x 8 (vid). Blocks were cobbled together. I’ll make something more formal over the holidays. I don’t like smashing my bar on pins so I prefer these. I’ll add some weight next time.
Done. I was in the mood to have a drink and hang with the family. Felt pretty strong tonight.
So, the new diet research has apparently determined that eating all your daily carbs, even if they are crap carbs, at dinner time delivers big benefits.
Including:
More weight loss
Lower BMI
Reduced abdominal girth
Less hunger and preoccupation with food
Decreased fasting glucose
Reduction in triglycerides and LDL cholesterol
Increase in HDL cholesterol
Decrease in inflammation
Reduction in leptin levels (hungry versus full hormone)
Increase in adiponectin levels

Also, Keifer’s Carb Back Loading (check out StormTheBeach’s log for his thoughts) apparently advocates the same approach.
As far as I can tell, eat protein and fat during the day and then eat whatever-the-fuck-you-want at dinner and later. It’s a mind bender if it’s right.
I like that trap bar work- nice job.
meatbook has promise
I went and reread some thing here and peeped the picture of your wife
she is lovely
but indeed this log has everything
philosophy
wife pics
succesful heavy lifting
Maschy’s new Avi
and megadeath.
ps the shed looks awesome- I cant believe it has its own breaker panel
I have been checking out Keifers stuff for a while Pegg had mentioned him in his EliteFTS log
believe it or not a chiropractor I saw ages ago advocated that- he felt I was eating way way to many carbs.
I also train mostly in the afternoon or evening when I can so it kind of lines up with keifers stick

Thanks kmc. I appreciate you taking the time to read all the silliness.
I like the trap bar. I might get addicted to it if I’m not careful, lol.
And, no not creepy. Now if you were posting pics of her that I hadn’t seen before…
I have a week off work so I’m looking forward to getting the shed more organized. I need to get some primer on the walls but it has turned cold. I might have heat in the place today if the electrician shows.
hanging out with the family is what it’s all about this time of year.
I have trap bar envy now - that’s some strong pulling.
The few times I leaned out I have oats and protein for breakfast then protein fat until supper time. I work out in the evenings too. It’s always given me good results.
Pulls looked outstanding, you stayed nice and tight through out.
training is looking good

Thanks Mainy.
There is a lot more quad in trap bar deads. An interesting beast.
I have a pile of family coming to my house this year. Should be fun…but I’m buying some booze for myself. I’ll probably need it.
