I try and set the bar where it would be in the path of my regular bench. The first few sets it was touching my chest just below nipple level.

I dunno about the meet. I really feel like I’m hitting my stride with training and I feel like I want to ride that wave for a while. If I can add about 50lbs to each lift than I would feel a little more ready.

And now I have that damn tongue-twister stuck in my head!

Wait a second, is this meet being discussed, is that OUR future meet? Or is there another Nova Scotia meet coming up that I don’t know about?

Love the daughter working out! My 14 y/o is hit or miss, but she has really good form. Good for yoy and the daddy daughter time

Ya know, pin presses used to aggravate my shoulder too. One of the reasons I haven’t done them much. I not sure if it because my shoulders are healthier or I am getting tighter before I press…probably both.

Westside is working out very well. I can’t say I’m working from a structured plan yet but I love the ME / DE structure. Definitely getting stronger. Eventually I’ll test my maxes to see where I am.

And I love my daddy / daughter time. She is the best.

I planned on testing my maxes this week. Went to a wedding about 5 hours away over the weekend and drank my weight in bourbon (stupid open bar). Do not test maxes the week after thinking you are still in college. It is very depressing. I’m going to include the competition lifts this next round of Westside or at least do them the week before I plan on retesting.

I loop one end of a long band over the weight post, around a support underneath the bench and then loop the other end over the post. Gives great tension at max contraction.[/quote]

if you have a GHR you could loop em around the base at the front, hop on it backwards and do lying band leg curls.

the meet wont be for a while. were doing the battle of montreal on jan 14, it will be a couple months after. keep in mind that you may not be able to lift in the ipf if you lift in our meet, though

  • I’m starting to get this whole “spread the floor” thing. Squats are noticeably stronger when I get it right.

thanks for the vid, but yea I cant do that cause my bench doesnt have the leg part on back.

I really want another bench anyway, believe it or not this bench does not go completely flat so to flat bench i have to put boards under it, such a pain.
