I have been reading a lot of posts at the elitefts site and some Westside guys suggest doing two weeks of repetition work on your ME days to let the CNS recover.
I guess this is similar to what Staley suggested.

i gauge my cns fatigue by how my legs are doing. it doesn’t matter so much with my upper body but i can go for about 6 to 8 weeks on westside and make gains in my lower body but it stops abruptly and i overtrain. so i take a week off from training every 6 to 8 weeks. then the gains come back quickly.
One thing that bothers me …
People are always looking at the training logs and looking at what guys are doing now …
You need to go back and look at what Westside was doing say 10 years ago …
Unless you are and Elite lifter
Bottom line …
Learn how to stain (max effort)
If you are beat up do rep method
Or skip max effort do you low back hamstrings and abs …
Learn how to move the bar fast with perfect form … Most people are very slow … If you are a begginer go by bar speed … Every few weeks change your sets or bar on speed day maybe work op to a single …
Get your trunk strong …

Yes my low back is strong LOL
they show up not only is they low back week looks their squat looks like something out of a bodypump class.
Ends up they can’t even do a back extention with a ten pounds behind there head … Or do a GHR
Train what you suck at … this was the hardest thing for me when I started compeating …
I hated doing things I sucked at I always wanted to look strong …
Put the ego down learn to do it right … When you do rows … use a weight that you can actually contract your back LOL Not a glorified arm curl shrug …
Buy the Westside tapes old ones … Watch and learn … Wendler and I (when he was still in KY) used to sit for hours and watch the tapes over and over again … If you want to get strong you need to watch people that are stronger than you … Get the Chuck XXX video … See what a strong low back really is … Don’t try and do what Chuck does LOL He is not Human … Learn what you can from him …

Oh and by the way “westide” training uses a pendulum wave
