I pulled a PR today @315. I’m pretty proud of myself considering the most I’ve ever lifted is 275, and I assumed my max would be at 300 or 305.
I did get a little scared when I was pulling 285 for my first single and near the top of the lift I kinda lost awareness of my surroundings. It felt awesome experiencing just me and the bar and nothing else, but I was kinda worried afterwards that I might have been close to a blackout. I couldn’t see or hear anything. After going down, I was slightly light headed, but I’ve had that happen before (it’s just due to drops in blood pressure, right?) and I wasn’t too concerned. It happened again on my next lift but neither of the last two.
It could be something as simple as I closed my eyes and was concentrating really hard, but I’m not really sure since I was working out alone today. Has anybody else had this happen to them??
“You know if your lifting heavy enough if you can not see anything but darkness, even with your eyes wide open.” I think Ian King said soemthing like this in one of his articles posted here. What you experienced reminded me of this. I beleive you where just lifting like you should lift.

I like it when I see Green Clovers, Yellow Stars and Tweety birds when doing deads. Don’t quite get the same effect from squats.

I do from front squats, must be something to do with the fact that the bar is cutting off half my air supply because I’m trying to keep it on my shoulder clavicle!
Yesterday I did front squats followed by deads, I think I saw a galaxy worth of stars and a flock of Tweety birds…
