Weird Injuries You've had

I’ve had more injuries than I can count. Some of my less serious/long lasting:

 • Got stabbed in the head with a screwdriver as a kid. 2-3 stitches, still have the scar.
 • Had a kettle of boiling water spilled on my chest and stomach. 3rd degree burns - still scarred up, but only if you look real hard.
 • Cut my ankle open on a broken dish that was in the trash. I was doing my chores and took out the trash. The broken plate poked through the side of the bag and clipped my ankle, peeling back a good hunk of skin in a V shape. 14 stitches.
 • Fell off a horse and broke my collar bone.
 • Re-broke the same collar bone a week into the healing process by getting up off the floor. I was laying down watching TV. Went to set up and the weight of my arm re-broke my break.
 • Broke my big toe on the dresser in my bedroom.
 • Crushed my right index finger between two atlas stones about 5 years ago.

I’ve got a laundry list of other injuries from training and sports that still give me the blues years after receiving them.

I answered my wife truthfully how she looked in a dress about 2 weeks after she had the twins.

. . . . didn’t wake up for almost a day.
Lie, dammit LIE.

I was out on the piss with some mates and we were crossing a busy road. One mate jumped in another’s back, and I took the opportunity to jump on his back. Bottom guy stumbled and I fell off, heavily spraining my ankle halfway across an 8 lane, busy ass street. Had to limp while every driver was laughing at me.

Kept drinking and partying on it, the next morning it was enormous. Took almost two months to go back to normal

Third time I was snowboarding with my son. I went off a heavily used jump so the snow at the landing was compacted and as hard as concrete. I felt like I landed it perfectly but like you stated above, my board shot straight out in front of my and my tailbone hit square on the ice. I nearly had a bowel movement. The worst part though was trying to get safely home with my son. This happened in my 40’s so there were ramifications all the way up my spine and I could barely move my head. I’m pretty sure I broke my tailbone.
Oh man, I did this once too. Felt like my head popped off.

Another weird one was in high school electrical shop class. I was spot welding a small box together and had my thumb too close to the electrodes. When I pushed the switch down to weld it the arc jumped over and through my thumb. There was a brown spot on the thumb nail, and on the skin side there was a perfect hole down to the bone. It cauterized on the way through and now my thumb print has a neat little dot with no swirling on it.

I was away from the computer for 24hrs, anyway lot a stupid shit we’ve done, the way I see it were all lucky to have weightlifting in our lives, it’s a blueprint for over comming adversity, being able to use time and progression to build muscle, same shit for injurys, and bad desissions. As far as pics,I’m a cave man, I just learned the other day how to drag someones responce, down to the reply box,let alone use spell check, haha, I have some scars along the side of my hand, but not much you could see in a pic anyway.

Ive talked openly about my past on this sight for 5yrs, being in jail, working with kids, and more recently house arrest, lifes a journey, and as much as I try it never seems to get dull, how come no matter where you go everyone has a golfcart story, you’d think with a slow moving cart and a wide open space, there’d be no room for error, must be the booze lol
