Weight Gainer vs. PWO Shake

What does cycling have anything to do with this post? I asked a very direct question…post workout specific drink vs. weight gainer specific drink. Trying to get peoples opinions on the two, pros and cons, etc. I did not post wanting a critique of my diet, breaking down macros, and how many calories I ate for lunch on one specific day.

Just because I have posted about cycles before has nothing to do with this post. So if you don’t have any useful information on the question at hand and just want to bash prior posts, then please don’t respond at all. Thank you

You might have asked a direct question, but you are a liar and are being misleading.

I hope to God that Chris continues to post, plus its also good to see Prof X back on the boards, and you’re the kind of ass hat that makes these blokes (and the rest of us) mad for wasting their time!

I would also say that someone running a cycle should have some basic knowledge on a subject such as this post.

Earmuffs OP

SO in regards to my last post, I think he really is just stupid.

People who can’t see the relationship between TOTAL-nutrition and getting results in the gym are doomed to fail. If he can’t make up his mind of weather he should do a weight gainer or a regular protein shake then he has no idea what his macros should be or how to get them there. This wouldn’t be all that bad except he is claiming to be getting ready to do his third cycle. Shame people like this have access to gear as they are the most likely to give them a bad name.

Maybe some other naive guy will read this thread and learn from his mistakes.

Start to finish, he’s been through two steroid cycles that took him from 170 to a not very lean 195 in a year and a half to just 200 pounds four months later, and he still ended up with zero understanding about how to simply eat.

Not to mention that the guy goes from “working out for more than a year” to “lifting for 5 years” in the course of five months.
You missed it. People here count the “gains” made from puberty forward along with everything else.

“I gained 50lbs of muscle” can also mean “I last weighed myself in the 5th grade”.
Bah, I do always forget that gains are cumulative. Now I feel better about having increased my calf size 200%… since junior high.

In any case, guys, the OP is all set. He doesn’t need to know more about weight gainers, post-workout shakes, or food. He’s running a new cycle. That’ll fix it. From earlier today:

Second cycle, lifting for 5 years and only 200lbs @ 6’1"… is this real life?

Troll, or is this OP really stupid enough to eat what he put down above while doing a cycle? Can’t be that stupid…
So you’re saying, like, 2,500 calories a day isn’t enough? Get outta town.

At this point, this is about all I can hope for.

Even if we overlook how his personal history (and age) changes every few threads, this dude is a textbook example of a young, skinny, weak kid who got into steroids way too soon and he’s too ignorant to understand why that’s a bad thing.

Somehow I missed the rest of this bit from his “First Cycle Help” thread from last year:

“I am 6’1 210 lbs, 25 years old and have been lifting for 5 years now. I have my diet down, am over maintenance calories, 4000 a day. Max bench 220, deadlift 250, squat 225.

Dear Darwin, please hurry. We need you.

First off I know the importance of TOTAL NUTRITION. Just because I posted a random day or food, doesnt mean that is an everyday thing, doesnt mean its a cycle mass gainer, doesnt mean anything! Second I didn’t say protein shake vs weight gainer, I said post workout drink vs weight gainer. Third you have no idea if I have actually done a cycle, could be fantasy role play, could be for a friend, multiple friends using this account, etc, so stop making ASSUMPTIONS on everything.

I asked this question to get peoples OPINIONS on specifics…Post workout shake (Surge Recovery, Muscle Pharm Recon, Aftershock, Dark Matter, etc) vs Weight gain shake (Cytogainer, True Mass, Optimum, etc). Pros, cons, etc. I did not once ask, “hey I take in 250 grams of protein, 500 grams of carbs, and 150 grams of fat a day, do you think this would be better for my specific needs, please critique my diet.” No I didn’t.

IMHO there are some good weight gainers out there, but many are pricey and the cheap ones just seem to load up sugars.

I’d first log your food intake. Many think they are eating more than they are. There are many websites and phone apps for this. Make sure you are realistic on portion sizes and quantity.

Then really make sure you are pushing yourself in the gym on a proper program for gaining. Many will find they were both inefficient and over-training prior.

If all that is square then I’d get a blood panel and make sure your levels are all in tact. If you are over 30 you could be getting slammed by low test. I am 41 and discovered this recently when losing body fat and gaining it became very problematic.

Without knowing more on your history, condition, etc it’s hard to say what’s going to work best.

You know the importance of total nutrition like I know the importance of letting steak rest before serving. I know about it, but it’s not something I actually do too often.

You said it was a “typical day” Fun Fact: Typical means usual, common, average, regular, recurring, frequent. And, it’s a moot point now, but there is a reason I asked for exactly what you ate.

It’s not an assumption. It’s taking a look at your entire posting history and noticing blatant inconsistencies.

If you were talking fantasy, which I hear some folks in the Steroids forum do, that’s on you. If your friend or friends are logging onto your account, it’s awesome that you’ve found a few friends that all have about the same age and height, are all training the same, and are all claiming the same (shady) progress. Dude, you were busted. Stop digging the hole.

Man, to put it bluntly, we’re smarter than you. That’s why we understand that there’s much more to your original question than you first thought. If you could grasp that idea, you might actually get somewhere. But, no, you’re going to do your own thing regardless of how absurd and ineffective it is.

Lol…wait…wut?! “Fantasy Role-Play”?

Why would anyone do that? You’re saying you like to PRETEND you’re on gear??!

Does not compute…

I applaud your efforts to put time into your posts like you do, when in reality none of it will ever sink in for many.

You know when we were younger and our parents would be all calm, and then something goes really wrong and one of them snaps, “Just vacuum the fucking carpet!” I think I kinda get like that sometimes. Sadly, it’s a little more frequent the last few months.

Multiple friends using one account?

Hmmmmm
