“He’s wrists are the size of my legs” Did you mean his wrist, direct under his hand is the same size as your upper thigh?

LOL ! I meant the thinner part of the leg,I guess it’s the ankle. but again,I’m very lite built, while this collegue of mine is very heavy built. And neither of us are fat,it’s bone structure . and he’s not much taller than me either

i feel like i look alot stronger than i really am, im 165lbs 5"10 but i look like 180. the guy posting about lbs per inch is dead on, thats the key measurement… im like 2.4 so not really up there.
the key to seeing if someones jacked is their traps, big boned husky guys who dont lift have no traps. alot of is what to look for… like when you wear a tee and its like “draped” over you and you cant see anything below the upper back and chest
The trap thing isn’t really true, I had big traps before I started lifting, even when I was “husky”.
I disagree with the whole lack of knowledge point, I think some people are getting perception confused with progress, they aren’t the same thing. If someone looks bigger than they are then they look bigger than they are, no knowledge required.
It almost sounds like an excuse or dare I say it, jealousy. It’s like our friend Dickbag, I think his arms look bigger than they actually are and good for him, no need for me to rationalise his arms smaller to make myself feel better.
Now if someone thinks a guy looks muscular just because he has a six pack, even though he wears womens jeans for comfort, that’s another matter entirely.
Agreed on the traps part, mine were a standout bodypart before I started lifting seriously. Someone asked me what those lumps were next to my neck(referring to my traps), I was I think 13 at the time.
well i have to say i look bigger when i’m lean. i’ve been on a bulk cycle since early september and have gained about 12 lbs and i can’t stand myself! i’ve smoothed out, lost definition and vascularity and feel i look like shit. i’m 12 lbs heavier and don’t think i look any bigger at all - just fatter. but i know it’s just a means to an end. so when i lean up for next summer, hopefully i’ll have a few extra lbs of lmm on my frame and it’ll be worth it.
1morerep hopefully this doesn’t come across as an insult because it’s not but you are correct. Your avatar picture with you very lean makes you look huge, the video I saw of you recently you look good still, but without the definition it isn’t as dramatic a physique.
Leanness is a factor in how big someone looks when they are standing alone. A 180ish lb Frank Zane looks insane standing by himself in ripped condition, put some bodyfat on him and he looks like an average gym goer with a good frame.

I know someone whose a good guy, but he’s one of those guys who never works out his legs. He can Bench 275 at a bodyweight of 145 but he looks like he’s at a bodyweight of 185. The most work he does on his legs is maybe 200 pounds on the selector leg press.
but hey… he’s a good guy.
Well T-Nations pre-conceived notion of someone like this is a self-obsessed frat-boy Douche-Fag. Not doing legs doesn’t mean you have a soul as black as the ace of spades. It just means your training program is fucking awful.
Or that you have some sort of knee injury that makes even walking up stairs suck some days.
I havent squatted in a month and I am losing my mind because of it.
I’m surprised no once said anything about muscle density and water in your body. My friend weighs 130 and benches 200, yet he is 15 years old and has very high muscle density and dehydrates himself to cut for wrestling. Other people like me weigh around 165 and are 6 foot who are well hydrated(atleast 1 gallon) and dont have as much density because I go for size while he goes for strength. Thats adds alot to how much someone looks like they weigh.
