Weed & Lifting

I noticed a little while ago that my muscles always get much more sore when I’m high. Anyone else get this?

It depends. If your talking about mental or physiological. If you work out hard I dont think cannibus will totally kill your results, maybe just decrease them slightly if at all. Mentally however I find it alot more challenging to match my intensity I have when Im sober, like how I lift right now, I could kill anybody thats on the grass in intensity hands down.

I smoke everyday. Sometimes during the day, sometimes at night, but generally seven days a week. Leading up to a show, I’ve tried cutting out the weed because of estro worries but I have to say it made no difference whatsoever. But everyone’s body reacts differently, and I have some friends that swear weed makes them puffy. I guess what I’m saying is it’s up to you to decide what marijuana does to your body. And I’m sorry to keep rambling, but of course I’m high right now!

I used to smoke a ton of weed in my late teens early 20’s and it always made me hornier than hell. So I don’t know about the drop in T levels. I lifted 2 times when I was high and the mind-muscle connection was so undeniable. I don’t smoke anymore cause it makes me too damn paranoid, but I do miss it sometimes.

i like the idea of smoking weed for the mind muscle connection… something i never would have thought of

I generally hear people in my gym talking about smoking a lot, mostly the bigger guys. I assume that it takes place of drinking, but I guess I hear about that every once in a while as well. I still love to smoke, and have even worked out a few times a little high, but I would never risk a workout now because I wanted to smoke first. It’s impossible to push yourself too hard when you’re high IMO.

Not only that, but it’s even better when you have a doob waiting for you after a leg day.

You are probably smoking too much, I smoke once every week or two . I take 1/4 or 1/2 hits. I agree there is an undenyable mind muscle conect. When I smoke it is never more than alittle bud. I must admitt this is good stuff

Totally agree with the mind-muscle connection while high on grass.

i smoke before and after every workout and every few hours in between except when im at work. i think smoking makes lifting more fun. i have lifted on shrooms too. i do shrooms like some people do weed

Not to sound racist, but there are several men of color (and women) who I know for a fact consistently use drugs (mostly marijuana and alcohol and a variety of pain killers) but maintain a high level of lean mass even w/ poor nutrition and little training.

It’s hard to say no to the obvious and visible truth: People of color tend to possess superior genetics. Not saying that any other ethnicity doesn’t or can’t do the same thing, but you get the idea. Ricky Williams is a world class athlete. By nature. But that’s not the point. Wasn’t Arnold S. known to do his fair share of blazing? I’m sure it’s very different for everybody.

I was my strongest when smoking nightly, but my libido was about as efficient as a bum in a job interview. Regardless, I like Scrotus’s perspective on the tree.
