Because it was horrible?

Man, I loved that shit when I was a kid, watched it all the time. And for nostalgia purposes, yeah, still awesome. But watch a few episodes and and put aside the nostalgia and tell me it wasn’t crap…
Haha!

I loved DragonBallZ! I hated the theme song in French. Very monotone. And boring. Still bores me till this day.

I’ve watched a couple of episodes recently and I couldn’t help chuckling and shaking my head at the ridiculousness of the dialogue and scenes.
Chuckle at this!

EDIT : Messed up the quotes somehow.

Hahaha!!! I laughed so hard. Thanks Edevus!

That first video is so badass in Japanese. I felt quite nostalgic watching it, ehehe.

The last vid is hilarious.

Every single episode is an extended ad designed to sell trading cards (and later on, video games).
The only thing I gotta say is that actually, the video game came out about 8 months prior to the card game in Japan. The video game came out about three months prior to the card game in the US.

Pokemon fanboy back in the day here…even was dumb enough in middle school to buy the japanese version of Pokemon Yellow so I could have it before all my friends since the english version wasn’t released yet.
Fair enough. I never got into Pokemon, so I’m willing to admit I was wrong on that one. Though the rest of my point still stands. My ten year old nephew for some reason is into toys that have been out of production for several years, or old toy lines that aren’t worth the asking price because adult collectors are snapping them up (he doesn’t want them because they’re rare , just to play with after watching old cartoons).

His latest fad is for Yu-Gi-Oh cards. None of his friends are into it, because it’s a dead craze to that age group. What I didn’t realize until recently was there are open Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments and he wanted to enter one because he can’t trade cards with his friends.

I warned him against competing because the tournaments were probably dominated by adults who were into Yu-Gi-Oh from the start. On the bright side, he doesn’t seem to have been bitten by the Pokemon bug and won’t have to go to Pokemon rehab. Yet.

This is what Pokemon addiction does to you…

Actually, it literally was just a pile of balls.

TMNT Thundercats MASK and COPS where all 80’s shows. TMNT had a long ass run though it went until 95 or 96 they even started using the internet

I have to say animation wise 80’s had the better stuff, mid to later 90’s had better stories as censors. Take for instance the opening to GI Joe vs GI Joe Extreme. Extreme is too dark looking and the characters look lame and forget the backgrounds

Anybody remember the Pacman Cartoon on Saturday mornings.

I hated that shit.

Actually what was funny was that the theme song and characters voice was ghey as hell, but they didn’t cut out the scenes with lots of violence and blood as much as they did in the american version… You’d think it was the other way around

Haha!

Blackstar he was supposed to be African American but they changed their mind at the last minute, this show predates He-Man, He-Mantoys came out first though and Blackstar made similar type figures to capitalize on the popularity of Masters of the Universe.

This show was on at like 6am on Saturday and it freaked me out when I was younger

I was reminiscing on 80s shows then I watched an epsiode or three of Knight Rider on a channel I get from Singapore and I bought the first season of The A-Team and realized why I hadn’t watched every episode religiously back in the 80s…they were repetitive and most of each episode was the main character(s) talking with some mom and her kid about how bad the sheriff and local landowners were.
