Good point Pete…We are all stressed for time and obviously family and kids always comes first, but combining the two is just perfect!
Congrats on the insane FS PR!

like Tim Henrique’s article on walking. I honestly believe it is one of the simplest and best ways to feel better all around.
last night got home, after shopping for new basement flooring at Home Depot, and felt very, very tight. grabbed American Bulldog and my 5 year old son and did a simple mile walk. then hit the foam roller, hitting hips, quads, it bands, etc. when I started folling my back my one year old thought it would be great fun to climb onto my chest and ride along
point here is a walk, and rolling, are things I tend to think I am too busy for once I get home, that I should just focus on kids, but I can incorporate the family and get these things that keep me feeling healthy and mobile[/quote]
Good thinking.
I have a walk out video in my log that you will want to see.
A front squat with what??? Dude that is killer!! Congrats…Double win as the youngster gets a ride on his favorite pet gorilla!!
gotta pitch in on that front squat. that is monstrous.
tonight was a test to my theory on how to unfuck my squat. last several weeks even light weight has felt heavy on my back, my knees weren’t locking out, and last week ended up shaking spastically under submaximal weight
reviewed logs, and life, and realized a) somehow my DE/upper assistance day had moved back to Wednesdays, and b) after that on Wednesdays I was usually doing either a shit ton of landscaping/yard work or else demoing my basement. moved DE stuff back to Tuesdays, which is where it was when my squat was rocking, and last night just walked the dog, foam rolled, and stretched
this is how it went
extensive foam roll,stretch
hanging leg raise 3 x 15
box squat with mastadon bar 65 x 10, 115 x 10, 155 x 5, 245 x 5, 335 x 3, 425 x 3, add very loose light briefs 515 x 3, 555 x 3, 605 x 3
easy breezy as it should be, was gonna move up but a) figured I had a heavy enough night Monday front squatting and b) it was taking a long time for some reason to get through the sets, and I wanted to get some assitance in, and despite eating a ton all day was starting to feel blood sugar plummet. next week will work up to a heavy double straight weight then go back to a cycle of DE work
ghr 4 x 12-15, last 3 sets with 25lb
dbell shrugs 4 x 15 w/130s
rev hyper 4 x 10, last set with 250?
band pull throughs 2 x 15
Agreed on the walking.
My hamstrings are always tight. Old S.I./Back issues, plus I sit all day. This past week they were particularly bothersome.
Tuesday took off from work (no Internet connxn from the hurricane) and we went to the beach. Ended up walking about 2 miles in the sand (low tide you can walk out to an island and collect sand dollars).
The walk barefoot in the sand did wonders.
Some really smart training going on here. I’m sensitive to blood sugar level as well. Sometimes all it takes is just a few carbs, but I don’t carry like I should.
What briefs/suit do you use for squatting?

depends on my mood/day/objectives. today, and most of the time, I use a pair of Metal Pros (not the Aces) for DE and most ME work. They are 2-3 sizes too big, easy to get on, but keep me in the right groove with a minimal amount of pop or carry over. I have Inzer Preds and Metal Ace Pros that are a bit more support.
Current suit is Metal Ace Pro, only 3 sets in it, need to broken in and modified, won’t bother with that til I decide on a meet.

Gotcha. I am tempted to find a new squat suit, the single ply I have is starting to show some wear and tear, and if I get another suit I may go multi ply.
Walking is such a simple thing that people seem to over look.
Glad you got it figured out.
DF go multiply, bigger initial investment but they last 10x longer. That being said I do have a barely used Metal IPF/single ply squat suit that I would part with for relatively cheap, prolly your size, and only used in two training sessions.
Fucked up my wrist last night straightening bar in mono, hurt even to pour a cocktail last night:( Hopefully it will be fine for benching tomorrow.

Jerking off is ok still right? Or is that an assistance exercise or speed exercise?
serious question: How do you modify the suits and why for?
Ignorant question. How much does gear help with lifts? Does that strength translate to raw lifts? I realize everyone is different but say a guy benches 300lbs could they lift 400 in a shirt or is it like an added 20lbs? Just curious.

Depends on the type of gear and who the individual is. Also is your training structured around gear.
For example I lift raw but I use the Slingshot and my bench went up 55 pds horsing around with it. If I trained using it I could probaly add another 20 pds to my total trying to figure it out. (using the slingshot)
Sorry Pete for the interrupt.

It can be both. If done watching amatuer porn it is usually more like RE work for hypertrophy. Something more porn star laden will be maximal effort. Tranny porn is usually done for speed, in order to get it over with due to the shame.
Shirts and suits need to be modified due to your specific build. You buy a stock shirt or suit and rarely will it be a perfect fit right out of the box. Metal gear is typically made to fit someone with longer proportions, like Anno the owner. I typically need to buy a suit a size or two up, because of thickness of my thighs, then have the hips taken in, and some length cut from the legs, for it to fit appropriately and give proper support.

Yeah, depends on the individual, leverages, strengths/weaknesses as well as the plys of the gear. But obviously gear helps you lift more. But it does definitely translate back to raw strength. You get used to handling 600 or 700 while in your bench shirt, you go back to raw and weights that were heavy aren’t so bad anymore.
^ thanks guys, I’m not looking to get into geared lifting or anything just wondered.
