do you ever go down and load the stones or do any of the silly farming stuff?

I am jealous as hell.

I haven’t, but I am contemplating fucking around with it a little. The stone picks were taken Monday while I was pulling, and I kept thinking that looked like a lotta fun. There were 6 or so guys getting very competitive doing it, which always makes it fun.

Odd thing is since I am only person typically pulling there Mondays I miss my regular crew at the private gym. But this place is literally 10-15 minutes from my house (just one ghetto over, lol), and allows me to leave work around 4, train my ass off, and make it home by 7. With my regular crew we don’t start to six, and even if I end at 8 I might not be home til 9ish, without even kissing the kids goodnight sometimes. Hard balance…

Are your arms really that long or is it just camera?
I need to shoot some video to compare hairlines. I think I have you beat.

deadlift face for the win.
solid work.

I like the press medley variety day too.

I am laughing- how many gyms do you train in…

You’re doing the right thing I think. They won’t be kids forever, and I know I wish I’d enjoyed mine more in his younger years. maybe you can talk your regular crew into starting earlier?

this is funny, it has become the rumor that with my regular crew that I have two sets of arms: long ones for deadlift day, short for bench day

currently I have 2 punch card memberships to PL friendly gyms, one free membership (Twin City Barbell, the private club, my mainstay) and the commercial gym, which I typically use 2-3 different facilities in a given week, especially now that I don’t have my home cardio gym, due to basement fuck up. Add it up form there, I’m tired just thinking about it.

Digi, eh? familiar with the company a little. Not too many great bars in Minnetonka, per say, but Minnetonka is close to everything. What are you looking for?

In Minnetonka there is a fairly upscale place called Redstone, done a few work happy hours there, but beware the cougars, lol. The place is infamous for wealthy hot divorcees on the prowl afet 6 p.m.

Down 394 a bit (10 minutes), actually right across the highway from my office, is a fairly new section called West End. Repleat with some decent bars. Cooper is an Irish pub, part of the Irish pub empire owned by Kieran Folliard, who is big enough now to be distilling his own Irish whiskey to have imported into his pubs. There is also a large country bar there part of a chain owned by some major country musician? can’t remember the name at the moment.

If you want to venture downtown, just another 5 minutes, you have a plethora of watering holes. And then if you want something more Minnesota there are great dive bars throughout Minneapolis, my two personal favorites are Grumpy’s NE (NE for northeast minneapolis or ‘nord east’} or Liquor Lyle’s, both awesome dive bars.

Give me a notion of what you are looking for and I can help pinpoint. Hell if you it works out other duties permitting I will have one with you.

Not the training night I planned on. Shitty sleep all week, lots of personal and work stress, and I have not been keeping up on my recovery stuff like I should. Have made the decision that until I get over a few personal hurdles – mainly having 1/2 my house destroyed, having to do the labor to rectify that, and also until I am comfortable with work and mom situations I have going on-- I am going to kind of cruise. My focus will be on having a little fun in the gym, maintaining muscle mass and conditioning, and not feeling beat to the bone and tired as shit 99% of the time. If I hit some PRs meanwhile that is the better, but for the next few weeks, I am going to be in ‘cruise’ mode.

Here is what happened tonight:

Squat to box: bar x 15, 145 x 10, 225 x 5, 225 + 120 in chains x 3, add loose granny panties 325 + 120 in chains x 3, 415 + 120 in chains x 2, 505 + 120 in chains x 2

Immediatley on taking the weight I started shaking like in an epileptic fit. Still did two shitty reps. Moved up to 555 + chains, unracked it and started the same shaking. Felt like my low back was spasming like crazy so asked to rack it.

7 weeks ago hit 595 + 100 in chains for a fairly easy 2. Goal today was 615 + 120 in chains. Was not going to fucking happen.

Raw box squat 415 x 10. left a lot in tank, but just seemed smart to shut it down after getting a little bit of training effect.

rev hyper 4 x 10
hanging abs 4 x 10

band pullthroughs 4 x 10

fucking zombie tired all the way home, driving didn’t seem safe. oh well

Thanks brother, I have been to Redstones!! about two years ago. But Grumpy’s or Lyles is probably more to my liking so I think you already nailed it. I am always more interested in the local flavor than anything else. …and if you show the drinks are on me…I will let you know once they firm up dates…and thanks for the reply…
