Ways To Eat Beans

Hey all,

I want to start eating more beans, because their so cheap and a great source of fiber. What are some different ways to eat beans?

-Nobodyreal

i tend to eat them orally.

but as far as serious suggestions go, a big ole pot of chili is always great. one of my favorite concoctions is tuna, franks hot sauce, a tiny bit of mayo, salt, pepper, chili powder, half of an avacado, and about a 1/4 cup of black beans, all mixed together in a bowl. since beans have a pretty bland flavor, you can get away with mixing them into just about any dish.

Mix it in a blender with:

1 Scoop Hydrolisate whey
1 cup of oats
1/2 ketchup (high in lycopene)
1 glass of gatorade (preferably orange/grape)

Tastes great, rich in proteins. It will make your arms grow.

bean salad

soak your beans of choice overnight in water, then cook them in whatever way you fancy(olive oil, coconut oil, herbs…)make sure there’s some gravy, then add them to your brown rice/whole wheat pasta.
Great while bulking!

my favorite way

1 brown some ground ground turkey
2 drain n rinse red and black beans
2 boil brown rice
drain the meat of any fat then throw in a cut up onion and seasoning simmer it for a few

mix all that up and put it over salad/spinach

find some organic salsa to top it with…then blend some cottage cheese with skim milk, garlic, red pepper

pour on your salad

or just the classic beans and brown rice

I usually use beans in fajitas, burritos, and chili.

I also like to stir-fry beef with peppers and onions, season it with lots of chili powder, garlic, chipotle, and cumin, put that on top of LOTS of black beans, cover with no less than 5 tablespoons of sour cream, lots of salsa, maybe some cilantro, and then grate a few ounces of pepper jack cheese on top.

wow, that Gatorade drink sounds nasty. But the rest sound awesome. :d

I just wanted to add…

Beans Beans the magical fruit, the more you eat the more you toot, the more you toot the better you feel so eat some beans with every meal.

ha ha. nice gut-wrenching twist on a classic.

Yeah, I recommend orallyas well. I tried other ways, and wound up with a lot of problems. I went to the doctor luckily he knew what was wrong - I wasn’t eating right.

And that’s when I developed my drinking problem…

And of course, in S&N, editing doesn’t work…

If you have canned beans, here’s what I do:

Drain the beans, don’t rinse (unless you have to watch your sodium)
Throw the beans in a pot with some of the canning liquid
Add some DARK beer, hot sauce, and balsamic vinegar (about a cup-1.5 cups beer, a couple splashes of hot sauce, and less balsamic than hot sauce… It’s a taste thing, so go slow the first time or two until you know what you like)

Let that come to high heat, stirring occasionally to make sure none of the beans dry out (you’re basically boiling out the alcohol which accounts for about 70% of the calories of most beers)
Cook for about 30 minutes and test beans, if they need more cooking, cover and cook at lower heat.

I start that before I start in on whatever chicken, steak, whatever I’m cooking, and it generally works out about right.

I dice 2 skinless chicken breasts and stir fry in olive oil, add chili powder and a dash of cumin, dice 1 jalaepeno ,drain one can Hot Rotel add it in, drain rinse 2 cans of black beans add those in. Let the most of any liquid remaining cook down. Add 1/2 cup frozen white corn mix together, sprinkle a small amount of shredded cheese of your choice…just let the corn get softened not cooked will make a difference in texture. EAT EAT EAT

Ahh, this sounds great. Thanks.

I like bean salad:

Romaine Lettuce
Any variety of beans
Salsa
Red onions (to taste)
Chicken breast
You’re choice of seasonings.

I like to rinse canned beans using a colander/strainer. Rinsing is supposed to help prevent problems with excess gas, and it seems to be true for me.

Bean+tuna+celeri+tomatoes+spice YEAH

Thats a matter of personal preference we might want to leave it completely to the op.

I rip open the can with my teeth and swallow them raw.

But, if I am feeling womanly then I put them in my stew. Doesn’t matter what sort of stew it is I open a can of beans (or two) and pour them in
