Water intake-sick of it!

I hate drinking a lot of water yet still
drink 3/4 of a gallon every day.
I would like to cut my intake to like 5 glasses
per day-would that be really bad for bodybuilding ?

No way! Remember-- muscle is more than 70 percent water! You MUST drink alot. Here’s what I do to make it easier: Every Sunday I go to the grocery store for my week’s shopping… Along with all of my food I also get 7 gallons of water. So, I just carry a one gallon jug around with me all day and that is my water intake. Yes, sometimes things get difficult and sometimes I want to say to hell with bodybuilding, but then I remember, if physique building were easy, everyone would look like Arnold.

Water consumption is very important not only for bodybuilding, but for your overall health. Why do you hate drinking water so much? I drink it throughout the day while at work (I have a jug I keep with me), whenever I go out to bars or clubs, with all my meals and wherever I go. It’s not too hard to do.

Is it just not sweet enough for you or appetizing? The only things you’ll ever see me drink are milk, water and OJ. Occasionally I might have some fresh-squeezed lemonade, but other than that, water is my elixir of life!

I don´t like to drink a lot of h20 for the following reasons.

  1. Constant pissing

2 Bloated lower stomach-due to full bladder.
What goes in must come out.

There is no way you will build muscle and lose fat without drinking a lot of water. If you get sick of drinking water go ahead and get some Crystal Light to give it some flavor. This might help.

The constant pissing thing can be a hassle, but you get used to it. And it’s nice to see that clear stream of urine flowing from your body telling you that you don’t have many impurities plaguing your system. As for the full bladder, piss more often! hehe.

bateman…while I personally like water, I do find that it gets a little stale after a while. A couple things you might want to try: crystal light (basically just flavored water), carbonated flavored waters from Wal-Mart (no calories, sodium), Diet Rite (no aspartame, sodium or calories), and even coffee.
I hate to tell ya, but we need the fluids, baby. Water is preferable over all the above…all the pissing that we do, well it’s also a function of the great quantities of protein that we consume. Our bodies may choose to use some of those aminos as an energy source, so they have to rid them of the nitrogen and converts it to urea, which is a waste product excreted through our piss.
As far as the bloating, I don’t really know what to say. Water supposedly goes through the system rather quickly, but I know the feeling you’re talking about. It’s just one of those things that comes with the lifestyle, baby. Water is critical in so many physiological reactions, it is unbelievable, not to mention the aforementioned fact that agua makes up 70% of muscle. Hydrate and get big, baby!

There is some really good carbonated, flavored bottled water out there that are caffiene and calorie free. Both K-mart and Walmart carry store brands that are really good. I use them to mix my shakes with, adds alot of flavor without calories.

Personally I drink 2 to 3 gallons of watyer pe day. I get up at 5am and start drinking water right away. Also I have a protein shake (20oz. water)pre workout and 2 post workout shakes (1 Grow shake and a serving of Creactive Carbs) which equal another 30oz… Then at work I drink 1 gallon of water (128oz.) + 4 shakes(80oz.) and when I get home I drink 1 more shake (20oz.) and water until I go to bed. It usually ends up being about 3 gallons. At first this was real shity because I commute to work and I had to piss every couple minutes but after a few weeks my body adjusted. Now instead of having to piss like a racehorse every two minutes I store it up and only have to piss every hour or so but I tell you I could fill a lake with some of those spurts. Anyway, drinking water is good for you it helps recovery and weight loss not to mention a million other things like aging, acne, kidney problems, digestion, just to name a few. And as stated below your muscles are 70% water what does that tell you???
