My gym has a daily tip board where they put up tips for beginners. Usually it’s fairly decent stuff; pro-squatting/dl’ing, etc. Yesterday’s gave me pause: “Drinking 16 oz. of water when you first wake up increases the efficiency of your metabolism by 23-25%”.

WTF? Anyone know what the hell this means? [/quote]
I think efficiency is the key word here. It won’t raise your metabolism by 23-25% I can tell you that. But yes, It may very well make it more efficient. You do expend a few calories digesting water so maybe it has to do with giving your system a kick start after a 6-8hr fast. Just a guess!

This is straight out of a Men’s Health Magazine, I remember reading it about 2 years ago when I actually wasted my money on those.
…or a foam rolling issue, prehab issue, stretching issue, or a fish oil issue, or a higher protein diet issue, or a lower transfat diet issue, etc. etc. Amazing how the body responds when you give it what IT wants.
