Was the Cop Right?

Tough one to call, I mean if the alledgedly knife wielding dude had taken even ONE step towards the cop while armed with a potentially lethal weapon, I’d say he was in the right…though, that’s not QUITE what happened.

Also, since the cop new the guys name & perhaps had previous experience in dealing with him & therefore (perhaps) had a a pretty good idea of just how violent the guy could be, that’s another factor.

Shrugs

And was that after you pummelled him with hundreds of bullets?[/quote]

No. It was after he cut both his wrists and throat, ran outside of his house naked, tackled a cop and grabbed his holstered gun. He was tasered and rushed to the hospital. Once he was on the table his BP was 50/30, and he went unconscious for a few minutes. All of a sudden he shot up and tried grabbing the nurses working on his. Luckily he was still handcuffed to the gurney. No drugs or alcohol in his system. Just a highly motivated individual.

He lived.

Cool story, bro.

Get back to me when you witness someone who’s been gunned down with a score of bullets coming back to life.

If a guy pulls a deadly weapon on a police officer, why do you expect that he will not be killed? Did the individual in the video have a right to threaten the police with a deadly weapon?

Oh, did you see the DEADLY weapon in that video? Did you see that guy THREATENING the fucking pigs with a DEADLY weapon?

I did not. The investigation found that he did have one however. Conspiracy theories aside, I am curious as to your rational for assuming the the man was innocent of possessing a deadly weapon. And I am curious as to how you would answer my questions assuming the video did show he possessed a knife.

Just because YOU didn’t see it doesn’t mean it isn’t there. DA already stated experts analyzed the video and saw the knife. If you watch the entire video, you can see the cop pull the knife off the guy and put it into the bed rail of the truck.

Tell me what the license plate on the truck reads.

In the incident I brought up, the person went unconscious from bloodloss due to severing blood vessels. Guess what kills most people who get shot with a pistol? Blood loss. Same reason for death/incapacitation, different mechanism of injury. So what does it matter?

By your logic, paramedics should have just said fuck it and bagged the guy because he was shot and in the movies, guys who get shot never get up. 6 out of 7 people shot with a handgun survive.

Cool.

Yet, as he stepped out of his vehicle he was hammered with a rain of bullets like a fucking animal.

He was not THREATENING that fucking pig with a deadly weapon RIGHT THEN, so your argument above regarding the guy in the video PULLING a deadly weapon at a fucking cop and getting killed because of that is INVALID.

I would have probably had a different opinion had I seen a weapon aimed at the pig. I didn’t see any weapon and that guy didn’t deserve to be EXTERMINATED that way. A couple of shots would have sufficed.

But I don’t fucking care about that particular incident, WN76.

I’d hoped you’d talked about someone getting shot by a series of bullets, then coming back to life to shot pigs again, like in those action movies.

That was what I expected from your reply to my comments regarding the way the fucking pig dealt with that guy’s corpse.

Well, until a doc declares him dead or tells me the cuffs have to come off to work on the guy, he’s staying hooked up. It’s a common policy.

Do you have a link to anything showing he actually had a weapon? Did they ever produce it? I am just asking because I have not seen any such thing produced. And yes I still contend he was destined for a short life if this is how he acts when told to drop the (supposed) weapon.

“Duenez had convictions for felony evading arrest, vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of controlled substances, burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, participation in a criminal street gang and statutory rape, according to Hensley. Police were aware of Duenez’ criminal background and considered him armed and dangerous, Hensley said.”

He has a history of evading arrest and assault with a deadly weapon.

And here’s the whole report if you want to give it a read.

It speaks for itself.

Full story would have been beneficial at the onset of this thread.

Not saying the guy deserved to be shot up as he was, but with a record like that, I can see how a cop would be cautious and suspicious at the very least when dealing with the dude.

Thanks, WN76.

DarkNinja I would LOVE to see what you look like…everyone of your posts both good and bad intrigue the shit out of me.

DN’s a guy.

At 42 seconds into the video, as he is exiting the vehicle you can clearly see he is holding something in his hand.
With the information available it would be safe to assume that this is the knife mentioned.
