Wanting a Vehicle Holster. Any Advice?

Hey fellow brothers in arms. I’ve always had guns my whole life and I keep a 357 revolver for home protection but I recently bought 2 new guns for carrying in our vehicles. I bought my wife a 38 snub-nose and I picked up a Glock G17 for me. Being in TX, we can legally carry them our vehicles but I just don’t want them laying in some console or glovebox.

Anybody have any experience with vehicle holsters? I want something that doesnt scream that there is a gun in here to would-be thieves.

What kind of vehicle do you have? Companies like Console Vault make gun safes that fit into your center console depending on the vehicle.

I just put mine in a locked gun safe under my seat. The safe has a built in cable that I wrap around the seat rails. First you’d have to find it and then it would be a pain to steal it but could be done with cable cutters.

Alien gear creates a vehicle holster that you can attach pretty much anywhere in the vehicle. Their warranty ain’t bad either, essentially the Kydex shell can be swapped at any time for different models of hand guns. I believe you would just have to pay shipping.

Wifey gets to drive the crew cab Silverado while I get to drive the egg (also known as a Ford Fiesta)

Thanks! Going to check them out

Here is what I use. Its super cheap. Stack On and other brands make this portable vault. As you can see the cable is internal so you can wrap it around the seat rails to secure the safe.

Another mounting option is really strong molybdenum magnets. You can even use them on plastic by putting another set on the inside of the plastic piece.

They sell ones specifically for firearms.

I’ve been leaning towards this alot. My only worry is that my gun will be visible when parked. I dont have my CHL yet so I cant take it with me when I leave unless I’m going home. My other option is just to put it out of sight every time I leave the car.

Glove box or console works fine for me. If I even think a situation has the possibility of going sideways, I take it out and put it under my leg, or on my lap if I am stopped. And when I take the gun out, no one is the wiser there was a gun in there in the first place.
I just make sure it doesn’t get buried and stays on top of everything, doesn’t move much, and
is available when I need it.

Console is the plan for the silverado but I drive a little commuter car and the options are limited that way.
