The buying a handgun thread is turning out to be a great read and plumb full of great information. One of the problems facing licensed carriers is how to take the gun from the home and wear it during your everyday affairs. On top of that holsters can be real pain in the ass. I have 18 holsters, 3 that I like and none that I love. Plus, concealed means concealed under all conditions not just in front of the mirror. You have to avoid scaring the store clerk when you pick something from the very bottom or the very top shelf.
I generally prefer an inside-the-waistband holster on the hip. For daily walk around chores it makes for an easy and very concealable carry. Downside is it can be very uncomfortable when sitting down and near impossible to sit with using a front carry or small-of-the-back carry. Not to mention difficult to draw from while seated. I’m not too thrilled with my current holster and am looking at Biachi or Galco. Any suggestions?

I’ll take a look at gun belt. That maybe why I haven’t been comfortable with any of my belt holsters or paddle holsters. My belt is probably too weak and lets the grip lean out away from my body.
I generally wear an undershirt for both comfort and to keep sweat off the gun. I have seen a couple holsters with extra leather to keep gun and flesh from meeting for the same reason.

I have a C-Tac Infidel (w/Ghurka strut), inside the waistband appendix carry.
I tend to carry my Kahr CW40 in a belly band. These things definitely need an undershirt worn underneath. Otherwise they tend to soak up sweat and itch like crazy. Also if you lose weight like I have then they need to be altered or replaced. Mine is made from nylon and elastic. Velcro binds the ends and makes it fairly adjustable.

I’ve found Blackhawk CQB Rescue/Rigger belt makes a good gunbelt for less than $30.

You seem to know quite a bit about guns, and I think I recall you said you carried a Glock?

I carry a Glock now. I used to carry a fullsize H&K USP in 45 outside the waistband in a Mitch Rosen 5JR. It did a fine job. Mitch makes great products and his shop is literally across the street from me. I checked his site and I didn’t see anything with a retention strap, but I know he makes them.
Any opinions on shoulder rigs? I haven’t found one for conceal carry that I like yet. I used to have good one I wore when hunting, but switched to low hanging tie down holster.

I’ve never worn one, but I saw an insulated vest with a built in concealed carry holster. It looked low key (not at all tacticool).
