Want to Gain Weight, Never Hungry

Hi !

I’m very thin and skinny guy seeking to increase my weight. I have used casein / whey / serious mass / creatine / glutamine / BCAA for around a year while I was lifting. Then I get dishearted because even those expensive products were not showing their effect. I hit 52KG at that time of training around 7 months ago. But again at 48KG at the time of writing. I’ve used multivitamin and have seen some local doctors (Hakeem) for 3+ months regularly but REALLY NOT EFFECTS. My Family is of same weight series and I know that all stuff is due to genetic reasons.

After much research I thought to use AAS but again it has temporary effect. My main problem is that I do not feel hungry. To tackle that problem I’ve used some tricks like to take a lemon juice as after awekening up (For some months). But again I’m 48KG at the time of writing. What should I do? Read some book from amazon? Use AAS? Do nothing?

Please reply as I’m in need of your helpful advises.

Regards
Sheikh Naveed

Not a single mention of food…

Set an eating schedule. Start with 3 times per day. (at sub-50kg, even small meals 3 times per day will be more than enough to put weight on) That is have a set time. Eg. 7am, 12pm 7pm. Leave 30 minutes to eat .

Then prep the food, sit down at the table. Don’t feel like it? Suck it up and eat.

I saw some guy with cerebral palsy finish a marathon the other week. You can manage to put food in your mouth when you don’t feel like it.

Once you’re eating regularly and put some weight on, then think about increasing meal size/frequency and meal composition

So what you seem to be is an ectomorph (hard gainer). Forget about supplements. Your primary focus should be on carbohydrates. Carbs produce insulin, which literally opens the doors to your cells, allowing nutrients (such as protein) in to build muscle. The problem is that as an etcomorph, your metabolism is so high that your burning through your calories before they can be used to build muscle. To battle this, focus on higher glycemic carb sources such as white potatoes, pastas and even white rice. These will spike insulin fast, allowing the cell doors to open and absorb nutrients before you burn through them. Just make sure to have some fast absorbing protein with it, like whey or eggs.

Additionally, besides eating more actual food, you can make weight gainer shakes to consume between meals, but you need to be eating a lot of good, whole foods. Take 2-3 days to sit down and track your calories meticulously to honestly assess how much you are eating, because it’s obviously not enough.

Pick a favorite protein powder, add some milk and 4-6 ice cubes, throw in some fruit of your choice (e.g., whole banana, cup or two of berries, peaches, kiwi, etc.), add a few TBSP of natural peanut butter, perhaps an avocado if you like them, egg whites, oats, and even a TBSP of oil to taste if you need more calories (I’ve also added leaf spinach to my shakes for the greens benefit). If you down these between meals they will help to add quality calories.

Hungry. I don’t remeber the last time I was hungry. I just have to eat when the schedule calls for it. If you want to gain just eat for purpose not bc you are hungry.

I’m going to guess you don’t usually feel like going to the gym. But you make yourself go because you know it’s what has to be done to reach your goals. Think of each meal in that same way.

Dude, if you mention steroids one more time, I’m going to kick a kitten in the throat. You need steroids about as much as I need a third nipple.

Also, because I didn’t see it specifically asked yet: What, exactly, did you eat yesterday?

I was just about to say something from between those lines  lol.
Gaining weight can be tricky, but its probably also one of the easiest things to accomplish. Just lay on ur arse and eat junk… You can do just that if raw bodyweight is all that you are looking for…, or you can count all the energy you are getting from the foods you’re eating and adjust accordingly… Belive me you will be amazed at how little you are actually consuming. Eat like it was your job!

Haha, so true. I’m hungry for a little while in the morning, but once that first meal’s done, it’s all about eating by the clock.

Nice and are you gaining with that level and how much do you weigh? I started at 4300 and over the last 5 months upped it to 5k. I’m up to 265 so I’m gaining for sure from my 225 starting point.

Im about 215 lbs. At the moment my main goal is to increase my strength levels, but any hypertrophy is an added bonus. Don’t want to gain too fast as that means an increase in fat as well.

5k calories sounds like a lot of fun. How many meals do you have a day?

Do you play on your phone or watch TV while you eat? If so, stop this until you can get the meals down. If you have to sit there for an hour to get down the meal, do it. If you have to eat a pizza drenched in olive oil to make your stomach stop being a pussy and get used to the extra food, do it.

I personally used milk back when I was that skinny kid using stupid words like “ectomorph” and “hard-gainer”. Bust your ass, eat 3-6 meals a day and work up to a gallon of milk a day and you’ll see changes. If you can’t do it clean, get your hands dirty and figure out how to do it better as you go.

Big without abs is 100x more impressive than skinny with abs. Finally, if you are doing this for yourself, you will find a way around any obstacle you are up against.
