Holy shit I’m glad I’m back to this site after a break. I laugh my ass off every time I come here, comliments of ppl like seanc and irondoc (in the BigMoron saga). Iron Maiden, you definitely have it going on. I too welcome it when a girl makes the first move. It’s nice to not always have to be the chaser and one in a while be the chasee (dunno if that’s a word but you get the drift). The only thing I don’t like is when a girl is TOO assertive, particulraly with her opinions.
Any girl/woman that has enough confidence to do something they want to do should do it (duh)! Regardless of what it is, it speaks volumes (immediately) of the person. Confidence, character, determination.
They are all positives that shine brightly!
Bottom line: Seek and you shall find.

Seriously, I’ve been unemployed for about a month and besides emailing around 30 resumes a week and doing follow up phone calls/emails/faxs/letters, I don’t do sheeeit. Well, that and spend A LOT more time at the gym and doing meal planning and cooking. It’s amazing how that’ll take a chunk out of your day. Good news is that all that gym time is paying off. Bad news is now I’m broke and can’t afford supplements. Just have to do it the old fashioned way I guess…

I guess I know a bit about assertive, up front women. Long story short, my wife asked me out and she even asked me to marry her (unofficially).
For me it was all about attitude, confidence, vivacious and good self esteem = Good.
Pretty much anything else (sensuous, sleazy, cocky, arrogant, dumb)= a waste.
Made me run for the hills (sorry couldn’t resist).

Girls night out was a blast even though I didn’t get to try out my new set of kahunas and thick skin.
Going to just concentrate on my training and nutrition and worry about that other stuff later.
The comments on my rack made me giggle…why are those the first thing to go when women start lowering body fat %. Happy to say I have a great set of pecs now instead.

One of the reasons this site is so great is that being PC isn’t an issue. Speak your mind and don’t be afraid to do so.
I happen to think men being scum is part of their endearing nature. If they didn’t verbalize their desire to hit it when a hot chick happened by I would think they were gay.
I’m throwing in my .02 late here, but I’ve been reading the thread since it began and find it quite interesting. Personally I’m ok with either scenario, if a woman approaches me first I’m usually pretty flattered as well as impressed that she had the courage to initiate contact. At the very least I’m interested in talking to her to see what she’s all about. I’m also comfortable approaching an attractive woman as well, although I don’t do the bar thing much anymore so the opportunity does’nt come around to often.
IRON MAIDEN: So, by your model, a gentleman or any guy exercises control and doesn’t bark at the sight of a babe is gay? Typical catch-22. You’re intelligent and in control of your instincts and you pass for gay, or you pass for animal and you’re a typical man.
Bizarrely, there is never any middle ground in these arguments, if you take them by the letter…Makes me wonder who needs the negative feedback more? In both cases, the men get degraded. Nice lose-lose setting. But the finger pointer’s (women) premises and position are never in error, eh? And after that women wonder why we hate nagging: we don’t like lose-lose games.

Let me clarify my point. I was NOT referring to the extreme ends of this argument with my statement. It was also made partly in jest with a tad bit of sarcasm.
Being a gentleman and in control is always appreciated. Being too passive can be taken as not interested by a woman if the attraction is actually mutual. Vulgarity is usually not welcomed by women. Some happy medium needs to be found. Where that lies depends on each situation and individual. No generalizations can be made I guess.
The nagging thing is something I will never understand. How a woman can think that this tactic will work is beyond me. How men tolerate it is another question.
I guess it all boils down to respect.
I posted this question in the forum because I am very much attracted to the types of men found here in the T-Nation. Or at least my perception of them thus far. Intelligent, Serious about their training, Sense of humor and love of life. The muscle mass is an added bonus. I also sense a giving and kind nature or they wouldn’t bother to post responses.
We could argue this one all day I suppose.
