I worked up to a whole avocado, but was definitely running half a day for a bit. Other quality sources are nuts and nut butters, which I know you’re good on as well. I tend to stick with macadamia nuts and walnuts. The former are almost entirely monounsaturated, and the latter have all sorts of positive attributes associated with them. Honestly though, pretty much every single nut has something going for it, some are just a bit higher in carbs than other (cashews in particular). Those two I listed are VERY high fat and low carb.
Always got organic cage free eggs too, and grassfed dairy, if you’re looking to get in some saturated fats.
Yea I’ve been doing some nuts, but none of which you mentioned I don’t think. I was kind of blown away at the calorie count for some of these serving sizes.
I’ve been on the fancy egg wagon for a while now. My last batch was $9/12 and they were blue and brown speckled. So pretty with awesome looking yolks. I want to find someone local though to cut down on cost.
Keeping dairy out for now just for calorie sake. I miss it so bad. I looked at all the almond and cashew milks and it was just too much for me right now, which sucks.
It’s the rub about fats: 9 cals per gram. A little goes a LONG way. Been making gaining easy for me, but it’s also why they tend to get slashed in weightloss phases. But it’s ALSO why I like those nuts: you’re pretty much just getting your fats in. No pesky protein getting in the way, haha.
I have all the symptoms! Thanks for sharing man, I do feel I’m in the dead zone. I also feel I’ll be there for a while more. I still have tons is fat to lose but really hoping come June 1st I’ll be sexy.
The biggest plus that I’ve been telling myself over and over again is once I get lean enough, I’ll never ever have to get back to this level of fat, so that’s a huge plus. I know many more cuts are in my future, but I truly look forward to the day when I start my cut from a big - but soft, and not just from soft

I waited by the window all day for my pre workout. Never came
Starting to see the first real effects of calorie deficit in the gym. Strength is basically the same but it’s fading on the subsequent work sets. I don’t think this is abnormal, time will tell. Took a progress photo today and compared it (same pose/position), couldn’t get the lighting just right, I think the day I took mine it must have been a little cloudy outside.
Very small noticeable differences, but they are there. Overall size seems pretty close so that’s encouraging.

Went on call today, come off next Thursday first time I’ve been trying to lose weight and on call. Worked all day today and gotta be back at 10pm to work all night for some scheduled interruptions… should be fun

I read some dude on r/weightroom say that his success with calves came down to doing 200 calf raises every time he took a shower. Since you can’t get on a machine I think this is your only option left.
Been working a decent amount, pretty much only at night so my sleep is all out of whack. Went to the gym and just had a total body pump session. Just wanted to remind this sack of meat that it needs to hold onto muscle lol
Weight is still slooowwllyyy creeping off, diet had been good. Girlfriend not thrilled with me because I don’t want to go to a brewery and out to eat. So that’s fun.
Ok. So apparently I had my cheat meal tonight. Girlfriend was really down about us never going out any more and doing stuff food related (we both love food). So we went to taco mama. I had a bowl of lettuce with shrimp, pico, onions, a little shredded cheese, and slaw with a little southwest ranch. Not bad for out to eat meals. Buttt I did have some chips and cheese dip. I’d forgotten how good those are!! Also drank an ultra.
Small hiccup in the diet, but worth it for the sake of happiness/normalcy.
Balance. And that’s rough that you guys do so much food related stuff. I have it easy because we rarely eat out. My wife and I both know we can make better (taste and nutrition) food at home so it’s really hard to justify the expense of eating out.

I have never tried preworkout but to me this is normal… If a muscle is really fried, it is! At some point you can’t push more sets with the same amount of quality/mind-muscle connexion. Maybe try to wait a bit more between sets? I’m the lightest I’ve ever been in 2 years but my strength have not vanished, I’m doing PRs actually (lower body at least!) you should strive for that!
Yeah I’m pretty sure this won’t change anything in the grand scheme of losing fat, it might even help! Some recent studies show that diet breaks are very useful for long-term progression
There’s an article around here that covered one of these. A big meal actually resulted in more fat being lost when it’s a rare thing. It doesn’t work if you’re doing it multiple times a week, though.
For a cut, I think a good cheat every two weeks would be survivable. Just remember that the scale will initially jump because of salt and water retention.
Yea I’ve been planning on a cheat meal (within reason) for every two weeks. This one wasn’t bad at all and just stings because it’s not what I wanted lol. I’ve been dreaming of slamming peanut butter and jelly sammys with whole milk for a while.
I also don’t weigh myself for a few days after bad meals just to keep the mind happy
