Alright, im a junior in highschool and i wanna get into ultimate fighting. now i have friends that r taking some kinda class i think on like jujitsu. what i wanna kno is what would b a good way for me toi get started? what would be a good style to learn?any thing that could help
I am assuming your high school has let you down so, I would start by taking English 101 at any local junior college. Most teachers tend to be the same so don’t worry so much about the quality of the teacher, just find one and attend.
After you’ve gotten the basics down then you can specialize; my suggestion would be in the arena of spelling and punctuation.
When you feel you are ready to compete you can probably find competition listings on the EPSN website or at least links to follow to get you started. They have been airing the Spelling Bee for years now and I am sure they will have the pertinent information.
Do not neglect sleep and diet as they are just as important as your technique.
I will! thanks for the information! anything else?
I’m going to assume that you aren’t just here fucking with us and ask what training options you have in your area.
Wrestle in HS. Learn a striking martial art. get a wrestling scholarship and go to college.
If you are not good enough to get a scholarship you will never make it in the UFC.

Word. Get on the wrestling team and beat everyone and beat them badly. Once you are in a D1 college wrestling program, start learning some striking.
When you become a UFC champ make sure to thank your friends at T-Nation.
Since you wrestle, good start. Learn whatever you want at this point and try to absolutely master the basics. Just have fun at this point and train the things you like the best until you are the best there is at them. Good luck!
… Wrestle in high school
… Learn Japanese
… Get a wrestling scholarship to a college in japan
… Learn some striking and grappling while you’re out there. That is your only free time ‘outlet’. Train with Aoki if possible.
… Every summer go to thailand to vacation and train muay thai
… Compete in shooto, become a class “A” fighter in their league.
… Come back to the united states
… Move to either los angeles, orange county, florida, or las vegas. Start putting together your individual skills with an MMA team.
… get your manager to get you a fight in the UFC and clean shop on everyone because you have shooto experience.
Step one: Stop referring to MMA as ultimate fighting.
Lol, but seriously - train, thats really all you need to do. The basics are jujitsu and thai boxing but some schools now have MMA specific classes.
