Vote for MMA

Link here to vote for gracie reality show. Love or hate the gracies if you love combat sports and mma this’ll just make it bigger and help it in the mainstream. Spread the word!

I did vote for that. And I don’t want to hijack the thread, but a big part of me DOESN’T want MMA to become a mainstream sport. The day MMA starts appearing on ESPN consistently is probably when it will become a lot less enjoyable for me to follow.

If you enjoy something why wouldn’t you want to share it? That mindset is lame. You either like something or you don’t. Don’t have your identity ride on being “special” because you like something that not a lot of other people do. Alot of music people are like that listen to underground stuff and say they are a non conformist and when it becomes popular or gets on the radio it no longer separates them, makes them stand out, and feel special so they no longer like it. Don’t let your opinions and actions be swayed so much by other people. If you want to stand out and be special accomplish someting great be better than other people at something, anyone in the world could be into or like something that not alot of people know about. Not trying to be a dick this is just my opinion on the mindset.

Off original topic…

*Some people put in hours of work to create the identity of non conformist, like some punk kids/goth/emo, they were outcastes and uncondfident so they put on hours to make a crazy flamboyant apperance so people notice there crazy pink mohawk etc. instead of there deficent confidence and personality. They talk of not putting labels on people and clothes you wear not mattering but there actions are the oposite s opposed they put in the hours to be a flamboyant punk, underground mma fan, emo etc. to hide behind that label and group of people to hide there individual self which they feel is deficent.

  • Note I say some, I notice this with people who want to be nonconformists as an identity, loads of people are into these things and just like the style of dress and want to represent what they enjoy and spread it and are mad cool, note emos are not included in this disclamer they are all faggots.

Anyay vote mma spread the toughest most technical sport around.

Hell yeah i vote for it.

sounds soo cheesy but I voted for it

It’s Rorian’s family their just out to make some money. Plus that side of the family is known for being bullies and assholes.

Calm down bro. I like MMA, because I enjoy the sport, I enjoy training/playing the sport and I love watching it played at the highest level possible. It doesn’t have anything to do with me feeling special. Right now, for the most part, people who watch MMA, people who comment MMA and people who promote MMA are fans and love the sport. There’s kind of a bond between people who follow MMA. If I see somebody else wearing the special edition Korean Zombie shirt (dope: MMA Warehouse | Mixed Martial Arts Equipment, Training Gear & More) 95% of the time I can go up to them and instantly start a conversation. I like baseball too, but it’s not the same.

Plus, once ESPN gets it’s hooks into something, it will change the way the sport is produced, shown and promoted. And not for the better, in my opinion.

Kyle Whelliston said it a lot better than I could, although he’s talking more about college basketball, it still applies: Midmajority - Situs Judi Slot Online Gacor Resmi Gampang Menang 2022

But I voted anyway, because the Gracies are awesome.

Ok I see what you mean about the bond. I was more talking about the general mindset, I’ve seen some nerds who want to keep mma out of mainstream so they can feel exclusive. Definetly see what you mean about the bond but, I think it’ll be fine, I just thought of how awesome it is In my area I know sooooo many freaking people from mma it is crazy. I go out hours away and run into people, most of them to be honest come and go as far as training you know a few months on a few months off and are basically clowns when it comes to the sport there not exactly hard core alot of em probably only do it cuz mma started to get big but we have comraderie and are freinds regardless.

You guys, probably the gracies may be assholes, and the show looks probably boring tiger showmans marketing type stuff (i.e. hey bully I don’t want to fight I am too confident and awesome and do my homework cuz I do martial arts which builds self esteem etc…, Drewh is likely right, I am not going to watch it probably. But thats why I said promote mma it’s good to spread mma and bjj, and cmon what are the other options for shows? Another cry me a river talk show lol. You can’t help but think it is awesome to see mma + the guys who fought no holds bared and street fights on the opra network lol hows that for depussifing tv/culture a bit.

You are pathetic.

i’ve trained personally with Rorion and Rener and Ryron and they are the NICEST Gracies i’ve ever met and trained alongside, they are doing a wonderful job helping children out with bullying problems and all you come here is to talk shit and what do you do to help any of those kids??

Do you have an idea what it is to be bullied? grow up a little bit.

Seriously this is a retarded show idea… they’re just pitching something to make money… if you can’t see that then damn. And as a child I was bullied… I didn’t need help etc… made me who I am today… so you can’t pull that card on me.

I was bullied, it was the worst period of my life, it made who i am, but there are others who don’t need to suffer through what i did. I think it’s a noble attitude and should be spread to the world.

Yeah and you expect to others to be able to withstand like you did?

I suffered bullying too and made me who i man, but i’ve met several kids who were bullied and ended up comitting suicide.

I think the show idea sounds quite terrible. It won’t be getting my vote. I love martial arts but this premise is really a bad idea. Maybe if they revise it and film a pilot I’d have a better understanding but based on what this guy just said, I would hate to see this on television.

Mmm I’m interested why the show sounds so terrible to most of you. I actually thought it was pretty good, they are going to take TONS of kids bring them to california (pretty sweet for the kids) you know they get to learn jijitsu in a fun hard working environment, get some confidence, have these guys be their big brother take them out to have fun etc etc. I dunno sounds like a pretty good idea to me…it’s just like any other reality show like when the guys come and re-build a house for you and whatever for those in struggle.

I think what they should do though is BRING THE BULLIES with them as well, and get the bullied kids and bullies to communicate with eachother or something.

I actually think it is genius to bring the bullies with the kids being bullied. Teach one group self-respect, and teach the other group how to respect all at the same time.

I’m not sure why people are against this. It’s more of a show about the ancillary effects of martial arts, instead of documenting an MMA camp, while at the same time making MMA more palatable to the Oprah crowd. Sounds fantastic to me.
