I hope he comes back to the octagon. Any word on this??

That was six years ago. Hope which one comes back? Vitor had a fight in Pride recently, he won by ko in 37 seconds. Hid opposition was weak though. Vitor has not had much success the past few years.

Silva is slated to fight Chuck Liddell under UFC rules in November. That is if Liddell beats Sobral, and SIlva makes it through his Pride OWGP matches injury free.

Who vitor? You wouldnt want him back. He basically loses to everyone now.

When you think back about that fight, take whatever knowledge you have of both fighters and reverse it.

Thats basically the way its been since then.

Yea, he caught Silva and he backed straight up instead of circling out and Belfort just pounded him into the cage. The video is around the web, I couldn’t find it on youtube but if you dig around you can find it. Vitor just lost to Overeem in Strikeforce and KO’d Takahashi in Pride.

Saw Silva vs Japanese Olympic Judo Champ on the Pride replay show over the weekend. Went to judges decision. This is the 1st time I have seen Silva for a couple years. It was suprising how much trouble he had with a guy with NO stand-up skills.

The judo guy took him down a couple of times but could not finish. Silva finally hit the guy with a good shot and bloodied his mouth up with about 2 minutes left in the fight.

I am really looking forward to Silva v Lidell.

That was Hidehiko Yoshida. He’s one of toughest bastards in MMA. Keep in mind those FSN fights are edited to hell and back and leave out huge chunks of fighting.

Thanks a lot for the link. Vitor looks impressive as hell in those early fights, doesn’t he? I just saw a replay of his fight with Marvin Eastman on Spike TV, and he looked very good.

For some reason though, Vitor just got a lot slower as he got older. Maybe it was all the extra size he put on. I’d love to see him come back lighter and take on some of the middleweights.
