Vitamins/Minerals

Is there any recommended Multi-day vitamin mineral supplements that peops use? or is just any “over the counter” multi as good as the next?

I looked at the Biotest store for a multi but couldnt find anything.

I use GNC’s Mega Man. I bought it based on a friend’s strong recommendation. Supposedly the Time Release benefit is ‘key’.

i think as long as you are taking them you should be fine. take them consistently along with fish oils as recommended by a growing number of posters here @ t-mag.

consistency is the key.

the best would be to get it off natural sources, but that could be a bit difficult. so get capsules of all sorts and just down them day by day.

I use the Eclipse “Hard Trainer Pack”. What I like about it is that it comes with about 11 pills, and if you prefer a different source for something in one of the pills, you can throw out the pill you don’t want. (It has chromium picolinate, for example, which I throw out and replace with a GTF chromium capsule containing naturally high-chromium yeast.) The breakdown of which pill has which contents is on the side of the box.

I also take added BCAAs twice a day (Optimum brand), along with a Schiff calcium/magnesium/zinc supplement and a gram of added vitamin C. I don’t really need any of these, since the HTP contains all of them, but I figured a little more could be beneficial.

The single best site for nutritional purposes is “Lifeextension.com” Go there and spend several days reading!

I use the GNC Mega Men’s Multivitamin. I, too, heard that the time release thing is key. It says to take 2 a day. I take one after breakfast and the other 6 hours later. It’s supposed to help maximize absorption. I also take fish and flax oil gel-caps with the multi’s. Hope this helps.

Hey T-folk,

I usually buy the no Iron multi- vitamins from Trader Joes. From what you guys are saying it looks like it’s time-release vits.that are the best deal.
Sounds pretty good considering there are alot of vits. that do not digest that well in the stomach. And that doesn’t seem to be an issue with these.

Thanks for the heads up.

Yikes. Ya’ll have alot to learn. Stick with LEF, Super Nutrition Opti Pak, and a few others I forget the name. The rest are garbage, pretty much. Super Nutrition is my fav as it’s loaded with everything that you don’t typically see in most others such as vit C, Vit E, magnesium, calcium. Very well formulated. LEF should be similiar but more expensive unless you’re “member” of LEF for a discount which comes with 75 bucks(?) to enroll. Time release? I think it’s overrated. Our rate of digestion varies greatly depending on how or what we eat. I just don’t buy into time release, that’s all.

Anyone know if Biotest is planning on making a multi?

Thanks for all your replies btw.
