Bummer, dude. Hope you have a speedy recovery.
That sucks mate. Hope it isn’t too bad and it’s a quick recovery. Time to really focus on legs !!!
Sorry to read that. Wishing you a quick recovery.
Oh man this hurts to ready, my friend.
Wishing you all the best and a speedy recovery! Do you know when you’ll be able to get an image?
Sorry to hear Vinny! Was really looking forward to meeting you at BoB! Hope it’s nothing major bro. Gonna go extra hard at the comp for you.
Excited to see you come back stronger dude.
Sending good wishes and strength your way my brother!
That sucks out loud. Hope it’s minor.
Damn man that fucking sucks. Hopefully the healing and recovery goes well
Thank you guys, means a lot.
I saw my ortho and he confirmed my suspicion that I tore the top head pretty bad from the tendon, but it is well intact and functioning. I am left to rehab it on my own.
Because I avoided NSAID’s, the swelling is pretty severe and I am unable to straighten my arm without moderate pain. I’ll probably get back to training next week, but the format is totally unknown. Maybe I’ll do a dumbbell workout.
Either way, I pushed a bit too hard for this comp. I can’t even be upset, I got stronger than ever. Time to get back on the horse.
11/26/20 - Happy Thanksgiving and such. I’ve been sick with constipation (what has now turned to diarrhea), and I’ve lost about 10lbs of weight since injury. Mostly water as I dropped off creatine instantly and have been eating about 1/2 my normal daily calories.
I have been thoroughly enjoying not training in the last week, but for the sake of my physical and mental health, I had to get moving again. Started the workout with blood flow work on the torn bicep.

Overhead Press/Back Squat/Single Leg DB Deadlift circuit for 3-5 rounds, cant even remember. Just did this with hardly any premeditation. Pushed out what felt good, and stopped when I got too winded. Feeling super, super exhausted today. Lack of calories and just not moving the body enough+being sick on top definitely siphons from you.
Hardly any left arm weakness, but it’s there. Particularly on the overhead press it was most pronounced. My injured arm is still very bruised. Entire bicep is lime green with a band of purple tranverse halfway down. I feel very little pain unless I overcontract/load.
12/2/20 -Bw 223. Have not formally trained in 2 weeks since the tear. Just have been enjoying the time away from the weights for once. I honestly can’t remember the last time I took 2 weeks off (not just deloading).
Update on bicep: After the swelling wore off, the bruising was pronounced but it went away after a week. At this point I had great ROM and the pain was pretty much gone, minus some tightness at certain end-ranges. Oddly enough, more bruising came back but this time by my distal tendon and by the brachialis/outer arm near tricep (weird). A week after (now), bruising is basically gone and I can load 45lb plates to face height with no issues.

How to get instant bicep peaks in one easy step
12/7/20/ bw 222. Training has been random and infrequent, but I will start going daily with probably 1 or none rest days. Goals for the session are as followed: To drench my soul in trenches of lactic acid by way of HIIT.

VMO Squat to Step Up (50lb weight vest) 30 seconds of each exercise (30s per leg for step up). 5 second rest between rounds, 3 total rounds. I admittedly stalled a lot on the vmo squats. They’re SO painful.
That goal sounds oddly satisfying.
Miss u !
12/11/20 - I keep telling myself i’ll log my menial workouts but i just cant lol. The strongman in me is just unwilling to accept such silly workouts as being something worth sharing. In a nutshell, I’m training daily and just doing bodybuilding stuff but finishing with HIIT blast sessions that drain me.
Bw recently between 218-222. Dieting down slowly and kinda naturally. Not sure if i’ll cut much more. Starts to get pretty difficult around 215.

Bodybuilding with HIIT doesn’t sound menial , but I get it.
How you been doing ?
Merry Xmas bro !
I’ve been alright. Training has been going well but it’s very lacking in structure and I’m sort of doing whatever.
I front squatted 405 and deadlifted 525 with ease weighing around 218-220 recently. Not even close to PRs but they felt great and I weigh less, so that’s cool. I do want to compete but I also need to rest my bicep and take advantage of the downtime allowing me to recuperate the rest of my body.
I’ve been spending time with family and cleaning my house a lot. A lot a lot. Idk why, it’s fun.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays Jenn and the rest of my T nation friends ![]()
Merry Christmas. Hope you had a good one.
Got some training in with my brother (IG@godsbicep) this past week over the holiday. Had a lot of fun. Sadly did not film any lifts but I did pretty well considering I have not trained strongman in over a month. BW is like 220-225 depending on what I eat during the day.
