Vinny's Strongman Log II

Fortunately my breathing is unaffected. I don’t even have a cough. I think (hope) I’ll be okay, but I’m taking extra precautions. I ain’t fucking around.

Your overhead strength is fuckin unreal. Between you and Pwn it’s hard to do my overhead work without feeling weak as balls.

You and me both @flappinit reading or watching their overhead numbers is a sure fire way to make you feel like a child in terms of relative strength

You can always say you’re a powerlifter and you don’t care about overhead… I can’t play that card, haha

Hmmm very cunning I must remember this !!

Maybe it’s just in my head, but I’ve seen people who can squat, bench, and deadlift pretty impressive numbers without them looking that big. Squats usually seem to correlate with size a bit more, but definitely bench and deadlift can go that way. But I don’t know anybody putting up big overhead weight who doesn’t just look BIG. You can of course have big S/B/D numbers and also look big, I just mean I don’t know anybody who OHP’s a lot of weight who doesn’t look like they do just that.

I wholeheartedly agree

Ironically I’ve always been the smaller guy at all of my contests. You guys makin’ me blush.

Carlos Reyes is someone who had one of the best log presses in the MW’s/LW’s for a long time. He’s a pretty stout but smaller-ish guy.

You know as well as I do that “smaller guy” is very relative at strongman comps, haha.
Reminds me to ask: How tall are you?
Since weight classes here are a lot different than they are in the US, I have competed against guys that were -90 kg all the way up to 195 kg. With a peak weight of 125 kg/ 275 lbs and about 1.88 m/ 6’2" I’m not big at all usually.

I’m 5’9". I always thought you were like 6’4" and around 260-280. You definitely look like a brick shithouse!

Haha thanks man. I just remeasured and I am actually 1,90 m/ 6’3".

Holy cow, I had no idea you and I were the same height. That’s wild.

Heal up dude.

Yeah man, same height but I’m fatter. I’m feeling significantly better as my fever has went down for the first time in 3 days. Hoping to resume back to training tomorrow but we’ll see.

I don’t know if you want an opinion on that or not but it is generally recommended to wait a little longer after the fever has gone down to avoid too much stress on the heart.

Yeah for sure, If I’ll be doing anything, it’ll be very light. Like nothing over 100lbs most likely.

You guys have an inch or two on me and a significant amount of extra strength :joy::joy:

Checking in on the log, and holy fuck I’ve got an inch on you and pwn… height wise… hope quarantine is treating you well. You are putting up stupid weights overhead.
Looking to hit my first 300 log press by the end of this year, by which time you’ll probably be doing sets of 20 with that weight😂

Thanks dude. You’re going to become very strong on everything very soon.

3/26/20 - Decided to train today. It has been like 8 days off and I have been very very sick. It started with a sore throat and a fever. After 3 days of that, fever went away completely, sore throat became unbearable and I began coughing more. I figured I had to have strep throat or something. Currently, I have double pink eye and a cough that worsens only at night. No idea what is wrong with me.

Back is tweaked for some reason now. I don’t really know what’s going on with my body. Maybe i’m not ready for heavy lifting. Either way, I sorta deserved that with what I was doing. Mentally I am struggling to stay on the rails.
