Video: Jaw-Dropping Athleticism

So, being that I’m 21, flexible, and a long time martial artist, how the heck do I start learning to do this stuff?!?! I’m being serious too. If anyone knows any sites/instructors/particular exercises I should persue please let me know.

Holy Crap! I came like 9ft off a ladder and sprained both feet (not on purpose). How do these guys do that and not get wrecked?!

If you weighed 110# you wouldn’t get hurt either, I wonder how much he squats???[/quote]

These althetes chose to pursue into these skills as you chose to pursue a big squat number. Learn how to respect and appreciate other fitness qualities outside of maximum strength.

Geek boy

Good site for some of this stuff.

Right. They don’t even look close to 110 pounds at all. Even with the horrendous quality of these online videos, you can notice a huge distinction in muscle in all of them.

I don’t think he realy cares at all how much he squats. Probably a weight ratio of much higher than most of us here.

Watch the videos where they get a running start, the control and balance is there. I wish I could do this stuff.

The soccer video was nasty. Did you have some soccer in your past?

Ahah! Thanks for the freestyle walking links Chris but I was looking more for the mad l33t ninja skillz…

Nope, the little Texas towns I grew up in didn’t offer soccer in school or I think I would’ve taken to it. I do soccer drills though for cardio variety, plus I coach a youth team sometimes.

Scramby,

If you live in DC, from google it looks like there are at least four mestres and two academies of Capoeira in your area.

These guys look like a Capoeira Regional group. They are apparently holding a batizado (a baptism of new players into the game) TOMORROW:

http://www.capoeiradc.com/

There is also the International Capoeira Angola Foundation in DC. Class times and other info here:

http://www.capoeira-angola.org/

Pennsylvania:

A regional group:

The Philly branch of the International Capoeira Angola Foundation:

This is all the work of google: Alternately, just google ‘breakdance’ and ‘your home city,’ or look in the phone club for a gymnastics club that gives adult classes.

I think I’m going to go outside now and jump over some stuff.

I got my handstand down this evening! This is just the kick in the ass I needed to get started on learning the stuff. I’ve already got a solid cartwheel and good flying kick skills. Anyone know of a good kippup tutorial?

I don’t know what the hell this stuff is, but it made me shit my pants!!!

I thought only cartoon character superheros could that stuff.

I can hardly wait to this video clip to my sons tomorrow.

F–king incredible (excuse my french)!!!

Amazing athletic ability indeed.

Yeah tricktutorials.com has a lot of good video tutorials on. Top class infomation.

www.bilang.com has some more good videos

Re the kip-up … very easy move just requires practice what it being execute and then try and perform it. Roll back on to shoulders palms flat on the floor behind your head then you initiate the kick and follow through with a push off the hands to land to feet. Just a question of playing around with the timing and a bit of practise could be achieve in a day with constant practise.

And if you think your too large to flip here is some motivation

I learned to do the kip as a kid. It’s more technique than anything else. Basically, I flopped around on the living room floor until I did it.

Like the other poster wrote, there’s not much to it. But here’s some pics from a past T-Nation Davies article:
