It is AMAZING how much he weighed at 5’8
He had an awesome physique for sure, but those numbers are exaggerated. He used to train at my gym. He is closer to 5’ 10" and I doubt he was more than 300 lbs when he was in shape.
He probably exaggerated it to seem more impressive
I heard he had a 70 inch chest
What is Victor Richards training like now?
Like where is he in life now and everything?
I haven’t heard from him, plus he could’ve been Mr Olympia!
If Big Vic was 5’10 (same height as Yates), he certainly wasn’t stepping onstage anywhere close to 300 lbs in true contest condition based on any photos I’ve seen of the man. As someone who constantly talked about his not wanting to compete, it’s quite easy to see how exaggerated (or at least unsubstantiated) claims about him were so common back in the (pre-internet) day.

A lot of guys “could have been” Mr. Olympia when you’re just talking about it. Until you get up there and do it (or at least try to), it’s all just running your gums.

I haven’t seen him in a few years but the last few times I saw him in the gym, he only walked on the treadmill. He rarely lifted and his size fluctuated a lot. I first saw him ten years ago and he was still huge and cut, but got softer in later years. I got the impression that he didn’t like lifting anymore.
@ The mighty Stu
I wonder who started this rumor that he was over 300 contest.
Somethings fishy cause maybe he didn’t want to compete cause he wanted to lie about his stats or its because he was doing it for himself, good physique either way!!!
@ MytchBucanan
I also noticed that after the 90’s NOBODY has heard from him! Maybe its also because people wanted him to compete and then he probably got tired of lifting because of the pressure, should’ve kept up with it though!
