I like when stupid reporters/sports talking heads ask athletes “was it worth it?” Well, just look at Barry Bond’s bank account, or any other athlete who has used ANY means necessary to be the best, and you tell me. I always tell people who cry about athletes using steroids “hey, I know it’s not allowed, but where there are potentially hundreds of millions of dollars on the table, you have to weigh the risk/rewards in your head….and I think in most cases, the risk IS very justified. Especially with the crazy size of some of today’s athletes’ contracts.
I wish I could have tried the cream and the clear, haha.

Yeah, hahahaha, it was laughable. BUT, I will say, he did it RIGHT! He stuck to his story, no matter how ridiculous, no matter how much the evidence of his using was staring us all in the face, but he never wavered and he DID NOT ever fold like dumbass Lance Armstrong did (or that bitch snitch Andy Pettite, or Romanowski, and all the rest). That’s how you do it…if you are going to lie about taking PED’s as a top athlete, you ride that sumbitch lie till the end, and take it with you to your grave! Otherwise, just like they did with Lance, all the haters will totally discredit ANY and ALL of your athletic achievements/winnings, etc. Fuck that, Barry did it right and denied, denied, denied. All that BS about “the truth shall set you free”, yeah right, it will destroy your name and legacy. Better to have them think, accuse, talk shit about you and your supposed use than to confirm it to them and watch them tear you down.

I think Bonds’ legacy is destroyed without his admission of guilt.
Eh, probably true, I’ll give you that. BUT, at least it’s just an asterisk next to his name, whereas if he had come out and admitted it, it would be all over. His massive cranium, and body, didn’t do anything to dissuade people either. Just like McGwire, if you go back and look at their rookie baseball cards, they look like a different person! Jose Canseco too, all of em.
What also really hurt Bonds is his cocky, arrogant attitude with the media. He certainly didn’t try to endear himself to the public. With McGwire and Sammy Sosa, people loved them and they were generally nice, happy people.
Bonds, like McGuire, Sosa and Conseco will not get into the baseball Hall of Fame.
They are all “tarnished.”
I don’t “blame” Conte for Bond’s decisions. And i don’t want to talk shit about a man who passed away. But its hard not to think about the “Steriod Scandal” era when Conte’s name comes up.
Bill Romaniwski has been nominated for the NFL HOF, but not voted in yet. Maybe he’ll get in, the NFL hasnt “erased” anyone for steriods like baseball.
