Vertical Jump Help

This is me at 5’9" and 30 years old with two MAJOR knee injuries under my belt. On a good day I can still get a lob 2-hand 360, and can dunk 2-hands off the drop step fairly easily. I plan on getting back to dunking from a standstill with 2 hands again as well, like I could before the injuries. What I’m saying is: I know jumping and dunking. There are a lot of ways to skin a cat, but jumping a few times a week [not even necessarily plyos, just playing/jumping and getting comfortable jumping], getting your squat up/getting stronger overall and getting/staying lean are your best bets to increase hops. Trust me.

Wow man, thats awesome. At 6’3 17 years old, and with no major injuries I can dunk only with one hand, single leg take off… And I’m like 5-6 inches short of dunking standstill

^^^^Thanks man. Don’t give up. You’re still really young, and probably still somewhat growing into your body. Be patient, focus on getting stronger on core lifts, make sure you’re eating well, and STRETCH. I cannot emphasize how important stretching and baisc mobility work is. I firmly believe that if I hadn’t been so stubborn and spent just 10-15 minutes a day stretching/getting loose and cooling down I wouldn’t have the injuries I’ve had. Also, some feel they’re unecessary but I always really liked cleans, particularly from the hang. Good luck man and keep us posted. There’s a vert thread on this section of the site if you wanna stop by.
