Day 23
Still going. Thanksgiving was not a problem, I just made it a pwo meal. Went and lifted hard at the gym and had my Surge then had dinner about 2 hours later. Big plate of turkey and ham, along with mashed potatos and stuffing and a glass of wine. Felt really full after one plate and actually got a headache so I went home and slept.
I’ll post sunday morning’s measurement results in a bit, but I actually lost weight thanksgiving week. Checked in at 259.5 yesterday and today. This makes it 13 lbs in 21 days.
Haven’t cheated yet beyone a few diet sodas. One more solid meal thursday and then finish this up on saturday.[/quote]
Diet sodas are cheating? Ok, I’ve cheated every day of this diet then. Crap! hahahahah.

Well not really, I must admit though that I used to hate diet sodas and now really like diet cherry vanilla dr. pepper.
Weight this morning was 257.0 which means I have lost 15.5 lbs in 23 days.
Tuesday November 28- Day 24
Workout- Was supposed to be BBB back squat day, but I decided to chageup the workout. Instead I did a pyramid of Bears. For those who don’t what Bears are heres an idea:
-Start at hang position
-Clean
-Front Squat
-OH Press
-Back Squat
-OH Press
-Return to Hang
Thats one rep
So I did 5 sets of 3 with 2 mins rest. Really wore me out pretty quickly, and I loved it. Got some strange looks in the gym of course.
Weighed 257.5 this morning so up a half pound but still happy.
Down 16LB’s, how are the strengths?
Many times the quick one or two lbs in a day is a water gain.

Ya I am not too worried about the little fluctuations. Especially the day after lifting and using Surge.
Strength pretty much sucks on this diet. I really notice it on lifts like squats. For instance I can do 3x8 @ 225 with 90 secs rest no problem. My legs feel fine, but by the end I start feeling a bit faint. Most of my other lifts are down a bit as well from the last time I did BBB. Thats why I switched to Bears last night. Nice changeup and I not as frustrating lifting less. I am thinking of doing some 1 RM tests after the diet to get an idea whether I really lost any strength or was just feeling like shit.
Good Job on your diet…although I’m just curious about a few things…Do you think your looking way leaner?..also post some pics up that would be nice to see the progress…one last thing is you said your lift are going down and that your bench went down…by how many pounds did those exercises go down this month?
24 days down and 4 to go. Still at 257.5 as of this morning. Tonight is a solid meal with steak and eggs and a salad.

Not really looking way leaner. My arms and legs have always been pretty leann as almost all of my recent fat gain seems to have been of visceral variety. I have lost inches off my waist but its not enough to really go wow.
I don’t really know if my lifts have truly gone down or if I just can’t handle the same workload. It could just be that I am not recovering as well and fatiguing easier. As I transition off the diet, I will probably do some 1 RM tests and see where I am.

Well, do you notice any definition starting to show more?
Or do you think you are looking flabbier?
Also dude, a good thing to do if your feeling like shit or fatiguing easier during your workouts. Take some Complex Vitamin B pills dude, it should help a lot. Make sure your lifting well to keep that muscle.
Also, I wanted to know if you’re taking Glutamine…If you are not, you should in order to keep prevent muscle loss. Take vitamin C after your workout as well, it should help you recover and feel better. I would actually take it before and after your workout to not fatigue easier. Spike would be a good idea too. You should what Spike is. It’s all over T-Nation. Thanks for replying back.
Keep me and anyone else who is interested posted.
-Good Luck
Alright, I slacked on updating the thread but not on the Diet.
Final Results:
Sunday morning weigh in: 254lbs so total weight loss of 18+lbs.
I stayed pretty strict to the diet. The only addition being some diet sodas. I don’t think that I really lost any strnegth on the diet. Went to the gym last night after a couple of solid meals during the day and was able to hit 315 atg squatting.
The 4 solid meals during the diet were all PWO and mainly P+C.
Overall I didn’t think it was real difficult to do. The hardest part for me was the sweetness of the shakes since I have never liked sweet foods. I also think the fact that I had been eating clean and pretty close to JB’s guidelines for almost 2 years made it alot easier. It wasn’t like I was transitioning from no meal planning and fast food to the diet.
As I transition off, I am eating meals from PN and having a hard time finishing single servings. I guess my stomach shrank quite a bit.
