when i go on vacation, my workouts tend to be … half ass. at best. I’m thinking that instead of attempting to train while away, I could increase my intensity and volume the week prior such that I could use a week off anyway. Do you see any glaring issues with this strategy?
That’s what I have always done with my hockey players. Every year they have a 1 week vacation and we precede that week by a stress week where volume is about 50-100% higher at a similar intensity level. With that strategy you will surcompensate instead of detraining during your vacation week.

I tried that this last week - taking some time off starting tomorrow.
But stinkin’ Plazma/Indigo-3G/MAG-10 is making me want to workout more…
I actually hit a 2RM PR in SGHP’s today.
Now, taking 5 days off and still wanting the gym…
right on. i’m going to do just that from here on out in lieu of farting around in an ill equipped facility.
tain? really? how the hell did i miss that twice?
maybe i have the rare bone disease:
if you take your girl with u on vacation, it will be real hard to try to train anyway.
