Im considering going on the V-Diet after seeing the results from the Physique Clinic. However, as we all know rugby requires massive amounts of running and general physical abuse which for us is fuelled by carbs, which Coach Shugs is telling is to leave out altogether for optimum success. Not to mention not doing any intense cardio whihc is not an option
Has anyone had any success combining these factors and still being able to play the game at their best?
Hey, I’m doing the Velocity Diet right now, week 3.
If you read through the Velocity Diet support threads you will see that people have done the V-Diet while playing a lot of sports. They took in additional carbs however.
The bottom line is that the Velocity Diet is not really compatible with intense rugby, in addition to the resistance training and NEPA walks which are part of the V-Diet.
It does not seem like a good time to do the V-Diet for you. You risk the very real risk of overtraining and/or lean body mass in that scenario. You really don’t want to set yourself up for failure like that. The diet is challenging without thinking of the additional rugby.
