I am currently on day 17 of the V-diet, and at some point in the future I’d like to follow the anabolic diet. Since the v-diet is relatively low carb, it seems (to me, anyway) like it would be easy to transition to the anabolic diet. Am I wrong to think this? And has anyone tried this? If you have, I am especially interested in how many calories you ate the week after concluding the v-diet.
I tried searching the forums, but I couldn’t find the answers to these questions.
yup thats what i did, havent looked back, umm i guess the transistion was easier than others had said, but on the v diet you still have a decent amount of carbs and sugars on training days so it was still different, but not bad, i think it would be a good way to go
I was a looooong time ADer. I got lazy and also had to gain some weight for football…so then I did the V-Diet…lost a bunch of fat, transitioned off into the AD. Since ending the V-Diet, I’ve lost 7 more lbs without much effort.

How did you guys transition between the two diets? Straight into the AD? And how did you ramp up calories?

For the week after, I followed a Lyle McDonald style diet break. My last day was Dec. 23…so, Christmas eve and Christmas day, I ate solid meals with the family, and ate pretty much whatever…although I think you’ll find that you can NOT eat anywhere near as much as you used to.
Basically, I went to 2 meals per day for 2 days, then back to a regular 4 solids and a shake or two. I ate some fruit, but it was basically just eating at maintence. Then, I went into the traditional AD.

Cool. thanks for the info. Did your workouts suffer a lot during the first few weeks of the AD?

No, not at all actually. Weights went up…BUT I did use shorter workouts…so instead of an hour, i did 45 mins. Set a P.R. in the Curl and the Rack Pull.
