I think, first, we need to decide how big of an issue it is(on a society-wide level; not for the communities, kids, and parents effected, obviously). I think the most important thing is to harden the target by restricting access.
Neither do I. I think harden the target by restricting access, hire maybe some retired officers or something(someone who’s getting retirement money and can cheaply make up the rest of his former paycheck), and leave no doubt that someone entering the school is either safe or needs shooting(edit: or better be extremely compliant in proving that he’s safe).
When the fire truck(s) show up at a fire, knowing (being told) that people are inside that need saving, doesn’t the highest ranking fireman at the scene assesses the risk of entering the building before sending his crew into the burning building? Firemen are risking their lives, they are not sacrificing their lives.
That’s what people are wanting, in this case. I’ve been thinking it but haven’t posted. They are wanting stacks of officer bodies. That’s it. No one else would be expected to risk life with little chance of success.
That’s been my impression as well. Dude is incapable of finding something or someone he actually supports, so he spends his days online yelling at the wind for being too windy.
Or how strong our inalienable rights are. You might want to check how Australia treated its citizens during the lockdowns. Giving all the guns and power to the government is never a good idea. It is almost like that has been done many times in history before with disastrous results.
What? It’s a fire. Cops are given guns for a reason. Firemen are given hoses for a reason. If they don’t know why they are given the tools they are given or why they train for the things they train for, then something is very wrong.
If you think, “we didn’t try and stop the shooter because we were waiting for a shield,” is a defensible excuse for standing by while kids were being executed then you have no clue.
