Just ordered some Surge for the first time. Not sure if i should be using it after cardio workouts (i do interval training 2x/week) or just use it after weight training sessions. Any input would be appreciated.
You can depending on your goals, if you feel the interval training deserves it go for it. Personally I prefer to use surge during/after weights sessions, whereas after cardio, regardless of whether its HIIT or Steady State I use a Whey/Fruit blend.
Saying this for optimal performance Surge is the way to go, for an aesthetic physique it is better save for post weights sessions…

You probably deplete more glycogen and are less likely to elicite fat gain by using Surge after a hard interval session than after lifting. But don’t use it if your interval session is not truly intense and don’t use it after steady-state cardio

Everyone’s kinda answered this pretty well, but yeah…it mostly depends on your goals.
If you’re trying to gain weight, then sure, take it after your cardio.
If you’re trying to trim down, i would only take it after hard weight workouts.

Actually, it depends on the intensity and duration of the steady-state cardio.
For whatever reason people on T-Nation don’t seem to think that steady-state cardio can be challenging.
If you’re running 7-10 miles at a 7:30-mile or below pace, I don’t think a serving or a half serving of Surge would even be a drop in the bucket.

true that, Thing is I think most people round here consider steady state cardio to be 30 mins walking on a treadmill,

Thanks to everyone for their help. Right now i’m trying to get a little leaner. I’m interested in what you meant by a whey/fruit blend after cardio. Do you mean whey and juice or a higher GI fruit like a banana or pineapple along with a whey shake?
Sorry if these are simple questions - I’ve been doing this for a while but i’m just catching on to this concept of the importance of the during/post workout meal. And i guess i’ve been confused about what’s best after weight sessions VS cardio sessions.
