Use of L-Carnitine Crystalline??

I have access to Pure Crystalline L-Carnitine. One of my buddies works somewhere where sometimes things get damaged, and are put in a reject area, and thrown away. Would you dose it if you had access?

Says the study was 1g 3x a day, same dose as I use for ALCAR, I would use it if i had access.

Ya there’s been a study out for years on non-humans as well. L-Carnitine functions in the acylcarnitine-carnitine transport system.

The basic biological gist is:
-A fatty acid in the cytoplasm of cells must be activated by acetyl-coa
-The carnitine transport system (an antiporter) then transports the activated FA to the mitochondria
-Fatty acid beta-oxidation (breakdown) occurs in the mitochondria
-More carnitine=faster transport, so the theory and studies say.

=More fat burn. No real repercussions of it either.

Yes, you can use it.

Keep in mind that it is very hygroscopic (absorbs water) and minimize its exposure to air and moisture.

For daily use, I would draw from a container that had only a couple of weeks’ worth at a time in it. Perhaps in a dry climate, a month at a time’s worth would be okay.

Would you say my 2kg container over ALCAR powder is garbage at this point after being open for six months?

If it was opened once six months ago and then reclosed, it may well be perfectly fine.

If it’s not clumped and is still white, then it is fine.

Thanks for the replies…need to get myself a scale, thats for sure…
That is pretty much the only thing of use that is at the warehouse…
there is also dextrose anhydrous and pure protein hydrolysate

UPDATE: Ok, got some, about 500g. Used a scale. Level 1/4 teaspoon equals 1g. It has a sweet sort of taste, and dissolves on your tongue like cotton candy…
Stuff is very sensitive. While measuring to find around a gram, for dosing, if it got on my hands, the heat from my body would melt it and its pretty sticky.

However, I am seeing most L-Carnitine supplements are in the form of L-Carnitine Tartrate.
Example: the supplement brand “Now”, has an L-Carnitine supplement, using “L-Carnipure”(same brand as the one I am using), but its not L-Carnitine Crystilline, its from L-Carnitine Tartrate. L-Carnipure L-Carnitine L-Tartrate consists of 68 per cent L-Carnitine and 32 per cent L-tartaric acid.

Not seeing any supplements that use Pure L-Carnipure L-Carnitine Crystalline. Though I have seen some studies where L-Carnitine Crystalline was used…

What I am getting at, is that the Crystalline form seems to be more potent, and should it be dosed differently than L-Carnitine Tartrate.???
