USA Women's Soccer World Cup

I use no lies, that’s why you failed. Comprehende, hombre?

Another limey owned and bashed.

NEXT!

Some outstanding goals. What a tournament. :+1:

The irony is that you didn’t pick up on the fact that I used “sir” ironically. It’s tiresome having to explain everything to you.

Look, another strikeout. Jesus dude, you’re helpless. BLOODY HELL, MATE!

hahaha It’s what they always do, shit, if it worked on their dads growing up an then their boyfriends/husbands, why change the MO?

**How does women’s football capitalise on a landmark World Cup that hit new heights of exposure and profile, and shifted perceptions like never before?

That will be the principal question facing the new board of the FA Women’s Super League (WSL) when it holds its inaugural meeting at Wembley later this month.**

** TV records have been broken across the globe, including in France, the United States, Germany and China.

Almost 59 million people watched Brazil’s last-16 game against hosts France, making it the most watched women’s football match of all time.

The final between the US and the Netherlands drew 5.48 million on Dutch TV. Eighty eight percent of Dutch TV viewers watched the match, the highest TV audience in the country since the 2014 men’s World Cup semi-final.

In the UK, England’s semi-final defeat by the United States attracted the highest peak UK television audience of the year so far with 11.7m - setting a new record for women’s football in the UK.

That was 50.8% of the available audience and smashed the previous best for a women’s game of 7.6m for England’s quarter-final win over Norway.**

Fantastic :+1:

Anyone accusing the women of whining and crying obviously does not watch the sport at all as they are unaware of CR7, Neymar, or pretty much any Barcelona player. The women also dive a lot less.

He posted FIFA numbers. This is about the money that the US soccer federation pulls in and how much of it comes from the women.

He has admitted that the women have brought in more than the men. His argument is that, because that only happened in the last few years the women shouldn’t get more money. That makes no sense. Isn’t that how pay raises work?

Get a room.

lol I was waiting for someone to quote this. It’s so funny how you guys pull from clickbait so often to formulate your opinions of the world.

Do you really believe men are responsible for destroying women’s soccer? Like, just sit and think for a second. You can compare the women’s quality to boys of like 12-14 age group, are 50 thousand people going to start to regularly watch youth soccer? Come on guy.

But that isn’t to say the sport won’t grow, it’s the best sport in the world hands down. I’m sure it will grow, and I’m sure women’s World Cup will increase in popularity but it will never ever ever be comparable to the men’s. Does it have to be? No. Of course not.

Also, none of this is going to translate into a professional women’s league that actually makes any substantial amount of money. Because again where is the market for it? Anyone that actually watches this sport can tell the difference between talent levels. The women simply play the sport at a very low level without any significant change to the way the game is played (like how women’s tennis is different than the men’s so you can appreciate both)

We don’t have to pretend the women’s game is some type of fucking awesome product to watch, you know it isn’t, I know it isn’t, zecarlo knows it isn’t so why pretend? You’ll watch maybe every 4 years, you’ll catch your team playing and then when it’s over poof all interest is gone.

The women’s game has already vanished from every board or site I frequent to talk about this sport. Not a single mention anywhere, not even on reddit which was plastered with articles about the women’s World Cup for a while there and this is the way it will be for 4 years.

@zecarlo

And this is how I know you don’t actually watch this sport often. The women don’t tackle my guy, they shy away from physicality. You can literally see most of them flinch when going into each other, and they even pull their leg away half the time, it is cute lol.

Also, I did not admit the women make more or have made more since 2014. We don’t have the sponsorship numbers because they are not split between the two organizations (if I recall correctly this is the biggest source of revenue outside of World Cup). We’ve only been able to see expenditures and revenues generated from World Cup, but yes in that instance they have made more. Only the federation knows the numbers and they have admitted that the men still bring in more. We’ll see when the court hearings happen what comes out.

At least you now admit you don’t have a clue. That was an essay full of ignorance.

Bigger audience than the 2019 women’s world cup? How could they have known since that article is from 2018?

Regardless, the women’s world cup final drew a much larger audience than the little league game.

No just bigger than last year’s little league game.

I can’t believe GB came back to rip America and nobody told me. I’m kinda hurt.

He’s too dumb to not be American.

Oh he’s 100% American. He went on and on about it when he was complaining about how American’s women have too high of standards.

In this specific example, it’s ironic because the American women’s team seemed to have too high of standards for their competition.

Broken clock and all that.

Edit: because I just couldn’t help it.

This is how everyone is going to be able to tell you’ve never played a legit game of soccer in your life.

Granted, I only played 16 seasons of house and 3 seasons of travel, along with ref’ing for side money once I hit working age for a few years up to the high school level, but you obviously have no idea what level of play people produce, either by gender or by age.

You should absolutely not be embarrassed of yourself, but I absolutely would be.

You know the women’s national teams around the world routinely play against under 15 academy boys clubs to warm up for the World Cup right? Which they normally lose to lol.

And here’s your new capitalism fellas.

LOLOLOLOL

Keep goin man. Definitely use this line in a room full of people who have actually played soccer.

This isn’t anti capitalist. It’s the threat to withdrawn social funding on a condition. Welcome to the world of socialism. It’s full of conditions and criteria.

Keeping corporate welfare in place is the anti capitalist thing.

Edit:

Oh c’mon did you unshare this?

Is it because you finally read it?

Of course, this match against the academy team was very informal and should not be a major cause for alarm. The U.S. surely wasn’t going all out, with the main goal being to get some minutes on the pitch, build chemistry when it comes to moving the ball around, improve defensive shape and get ready for Russia.

We would commonly warm up against younger house teams when I played travel. You know what we didn’t do? Risk fucking ourselves up before the real game so we could beat a bunch of kids. Don’t be a schmuck.

And I love how the article tries to save face but then you look around and notice the Australian national team also losing routinely to U-15 academy kids in their country Or even more hilarious Brazils team getting absolutely spanked by a LOCAL under 14 boys team in Rio de Janeiro.

Just to put that in perspective for you that’s like a WNBA team coming to your local park and playing any random U-14 boys team and getting their asses kicked.

Go ahead, think about that. I won’t blame you for being a moron because I know you don’t know anything about this sport.

OH MI GOSH. You mean grown ass adults, whom are playing with kids that absolutely idolize them, aren’t going to crush a bunch of kids into the ground on principle???

DEFINITELY bring this one up with actual soccer people. It’ll be epic. I promise.

Edit: You guys remember that time Lebron was dunking on children at a warm up game? Yeah me neither.
