USA Women's Soccer World Cup

Right, because soccer is in the title and this board is probably 90% Americans.

If that’s your story. I think you are American and you don’t even watch football, I mean soccer.

Greenboy is definitely NOT mad on the internet, guys.

Talking to yourself?

Why are you so chapped about this? Move on.

Someone with lots of money who actually owns the team disagrees and dollars to donuts they’re more cognizant than you are off the value of each player … capitalism sucks doesn’t it

If they know so much why aren’t they posting here? This is literally serious business.

They’re probably conspiring to jip women of their fair share obviously

This is exactly what I would do. Only a sucker is going to take a “fair” offer when a better one could be on the table. Especially at a time when their profile has never been as high.

I personally don’t watch any women’s sports outside the Olympics when I’m forced to watch stuff inbetween the stuff I watch to watch. I also don’t watch any second tier men’s competitions or any junior stuff that doesn’t involve family (and sometimes friends) or something that I’m not actively helping out with.

That said, there’s no point conflating negotiating tactics with true value. If this is a lose for soccer administrators and they sign up to a loss making deal due to public pressure over equality then perhaps that explains the state of men’s soccer in the US.

Brashly using your freedom of speech to tout socially progressive values of equality on the world stage while kicking the world’s ass is about as American as it gets. I assure you, they are sorry if your delicate sensibilities were disturbed haha.

Too many people are recreationally offended these days.

Would you really though? Fuck, the 2008 financial crises was not that long ago. I guess we’re do for another one for people to snap the fuck out of this way of thinking “I’ll get mine, fuck you”

Are all you some kind of version of Michael Douglas in Wall Street? lol

I had to snap this to send to someone, it’s too good.

When the men’s team get their asses kicked by the Mexican B squad the same people turn around and go “oh, but we don’t give a fuck about soccer. our best athletes don’t play it”

You seem to be suffering from some hysteria. You don’t automatically get what you ask for but you do automatically get what you simply accept.

If soccer administrators pay what they cannot afford that isn’t the fault of the players.

I agreed with your second statement, but that has nothing to do with what you said before.

It is the fault of the players to attempt to socially shame the organization that gave them this establishment and that pays them a pretty fair share of what they are worth. Can they be worth more? maybe, maybe they can but their tactics is distasteful. If you’re ok with that, that’s fine, that’s you, and why I made my comment.

I don’t see anything hysterical about what I’m saying but then again this is a very weird place. On one hand you have people talking about MERICA CAPITALISM but then failing to grasp that what these women are attempting to do is exactly the opposite.

Weird, but I’m used to it now.

So you have an issue with folks celebrating the women’s national team winning the world cup, while not also being devasted that the men’s team lost a regional tournament?

Where did I have an issue with this?

Maybe I misunderstood. What was meant by your earlier post i referenced, comparing the two teams?

I guess you’d have to scroll up to the arguments before about how the U.S team celebrated against Thailand to understand.

Mind giving me the cliff notes as it relates to your post i referenced?

That looks like the product of David Bowie mating with David Bowie.

Who said it’s fair? You, who doesn’t know anything about the financial situation? And what is fair anyway?

I don’t think you understand what capitalism is.

Supposedly he isn’t even American but he cares about the national teams and their financial viability.
