My daughter plays travel soccer in NY, at a pretty high level, not elite, and they are fucking vicious. Every weekend somebody calls her a cunt - it might be another player, might be a parent. It’s no wonder that these gals are tough as nails.
She’s been kicked in the ankles, spit on, threatened, it goes on and on. She’s a big kid and dominates, but not fast enough to play elite.
We’ve decided that if another team doesn’t call her a cunt or threaten to kill her, she didn’t play hard enough. We laugh about it on the car ride home.
She’s U17 this year, but the C word started when she was U13.

It’s actually far more egregious than I initially thought. The women are arguing that because the men have these pro leagues that pay them- somehow this is a patriarchal gender pay gap issue? I’m not even able to understand how this remotely works from a logical perspective.
I’ve heard them backtrack and say that they’ve been shortchanged on funding, but that isn’t what the lawsuit is about I don’t think. They’re really just asking for more money for themselves, unless no one is focusing on the other particulars.

That’s about the only real argument that can be made though. But those would be intrinsic values that aren’t measurable in any meaningful way. Though it is still also their strongest argument, in my opinion.
