Its really not that hard of a concept to grasp. Nike is paying people unlivable wages but people who do the same job in another country are paid more. Meanwhile they post ads about equality. Like I said their is no alternative. You are either for or against equality, human rights etc.
Women have a salary they agreed upon. After the contract is over they can re-negotiate a better deal how ever they see fit.
However not much can be done when it comes to the main source of income for the national team (prize money) as the tournament does not bring in enough revenue. The US Soccer federation has to have some sort of income just like your boss has to have some sort of income to pay your salary…
Again, Messi and Busquets both do similar duties for the same company (FC Barcelona) but they are not paid the same. Busquets has every right to ask for a increase in pay, but Barcelona (the wage payer) will decide how much they are worth.
Question: Do you think atheletes are paid too much in comparison to say doctors, teachers etc?

Its like having someone beat their wife then say that they are advocates for womens rights lol… All of these companies use common sense when it comes to their business. There is a reason why they pay their workers low wages in developing countries. Im not sure if you can grasp that concept. They are trying to increase their profits while capitalizing on the misfortune of others.
I’ll say it again, I really do hope the women get paid more.
Having read intently the first 100 posts and briefly skimmed or just skipped over the remaining, I think the most interesting thing I’ve learned is how much dang free time everyone here seems to have. You could be halfway to a novel with the amount of effort put into writing here

They want more money, better training facitilites and accommodations, which is all fine but the argument is that they’re getting less than the men while being more successful which is not a fucking argument when it comes to sports. Just because a team in the WNBA is winning the championship every year doesn’t mean they should get paid the same as the Knicks or whatever. Its a stupid fuckign argument.
So they decided to put together a strategy where they would go public with their dispute and try to win this in the court of public opinion to apply pressure to the United States Soccer Federation to buckle to their demands and give them a new collective bargaining agreement. Liberals, mainly the ‘mainstream media’ latched on to support them. So they fudge numbers, they put out articles with half assed information, to make the case that the women deserve this because they’ve brought in more in the last 4 years when the men didn’t go to the World Cup, but the patriarchy is somehow keeping them down, preventing them from getting paid what they are worth, and not supporting their game enough for it to grow.
Any soccer fan, especially those that follow the USMNT and USWNT knows this is all bullshit.

The last World Cup was in 2018. The USA lost the qualifier in late 2017. Which means the bulk of the revenue lost would only be reflected in either their 2018 or 2019 financial statements.
