I was doing both of the 1B Programms. The last one had 3 Fullbody Workouts and one GAP Training day.
Often I have no Motivation for Fullbody Workouts because I ´m 40 years old and have some issues with lower back pain and bad knees.
I need to warm up a bit longer or need to prepair myself for lowerbody exxcercises with some isolation exxcercises for hamstrings.
Then the workout goes significant over 60 - 70 min. and my motivation crashes down do go on the last exxcercises.
I think in some cases an upper/lower body split, can be a little bit better because the focus is not on the whole Body.
But how I should manage it best? I ´m a Neurotype 1B.
I ´m not sure if I have done this post right? Do I need to mark somebody or something? I was thinking that this question could be interesting for more users
If you take a look at CT’s instagram posts or short video topics on this forum (which are the same), you’ll have your answer.
Any training split will work for you as long as it motivates you, fits your goal and allows for recovery.
So yes, an upper/lower split is perfectly fine if that allows you to train harder, be more consistent and use the same volume as you would in a full body + gap split. Adjust your variables (volume, intensity, frequency, exercise selection etc.) based on recovery.
e.g. if you take steroids, are a freaking unit, have incredible genetics you can train heavy volume often and recover well. If you are very stressed, have a superbusy life outside the gym, have an active job, do lots of cardio, don’t sleep well you must use lower volume. The higher your training frequency, the lower the volume must be. If you are in between blessed genetics/drugs and super stressed/busy, you can use moderate frequency, moderate volume and intensity and will do fine training 4x/week.
the question was about, how to manage or how to create an upper/lower split best for an 1B.
Not if it will work or if the motivation is better instead of an full body workout.
You’re basically asking him to create a workout for you. People pay him good money for tailor-made programs, as well as the ones he sells on his website. There are tons of free Upper/Lower splits online, pick one you like the sound of and work hard.
As he says, even 5/3/1 would work and it takes out all the thinking for you.
