Upper Body Only After Injury

Hi Paul as your an experienced lifter i thought I’d ask your opinion.

I’ve torn my hamstring so am out of action with lower body. Was wondering if you knew of any decent bench/upper body only programs, obviously including your own?

Trying to make the best of a bad situation.

I suggest you still train your valid leg. Studies and experience have shown that it has transfer to your incapacitated leg.

This is correct. When I tore my bicep I still trained the other arm because the body will still try to keep a bit of homeostasis even on the side that is out of action.

Also, anytime I’ve suffered from a torn/pulled hammy I was doing a TON of hamstring rehab work on the daily. The hams respond well to that. One of my go-to’s in that time was finding a rolling chair and doing a leg curl across the room in it multiple times a day. So you should still be experimenting with movements for lower body you can do for rehab, and that are pain free overall.
