Interview today. Had the gain on the charm turned all the way up today and was just too wiped to train after.[/quote]

I’m always amazed at how physically wiped I can be from non-physical work sometimes.

Hope it went well.

Thanks El. It felt like a good interview. I managed to pull them out of the interviewer role and into being people, so I think they liked me. I think my tech chops were solid too, but there’s a lot of really good people in the market right now, so we’ll see…

Snatch pull to knees + snatch
142.5 1x5

Snatch
152.5 1,0,1,0,0,1,1,1

Polish Press
152.5 4,3x4 sets

Squats
295 3x3

Finally dropping under the snatch at the heavier weight. Better lifts than last session with 2.5 lbs more. I should start getting these more consistently (crosses fingers) now that I’m pulling under.

Squats really hurt in the left lower back, but each of them was bounced off my heels this time. Now to try and make them faster.

Nice Snatches I see you do alot of front squats same as the Farmer. Do you think they help the snatches significantly.

They definitely do.

Snatching outside! Nice! I’m jealous.

yeah, i’m jealous of snatching outside, too!

sorry about the concrete, though :-/

le sigh.

so much win in that vid.

That’s your best vid yet. From the angle you normally film, your start position always looks a little ā€˜off’ to me, but directly from the side you can see that it’s spot on! Exactly like that diagram you see with the dotted line up through the body.

Looking really strong, that BW snatch is definitely an achievable goal for you.

Did you find lifting outside more or less distracting than inside?

The only downside for me was seeing the gang violence and gun crime going on in the background, which is obviously so commonplace where you live that you didn’t even look up! And they all looked so young too! Tragic.

We are indeed a jaded mob here in the colonies. Violence is a way of life and we seem determined to export it. Blue shirt was my son and black shirt was his friend from school.

I was deliberately ignoring them, catcalls from teenagers loitering at the school down the hill and cars coming up the street who had aa excellent a view of the presses and squats as I had of them.

I look at this video and I realize that I have so much more work to do to get this right. Managing to put the bar up is not the same as doing it well. And I look all saggy and old. Depressing. A good reset of the ego back a few notches.

That looked like a great day with the weights out in the sun.

Nice job- training out side must be nice

great work

You are about as saggy and old as I am.

Thanks for the view. Of the beautiful California day, of course, you old and saggy thing you.

Then I must look VERY good.

Enough with the self pity. You are in excellent shape for a man of any age and when someone says you are strong, don’t argue, just say ā€˜thankyou’.

Learn to take a compliment.

I had to warn Carl of the consequences of lifting without a shirt. What do you think’s going to happen when you flash a Tom Cruise bod in public?

Sorry for trotting out the whine collection.

Thanks for the compliments and the ass-kicks.

Clean pull to knees + clean and push jerk
187.5 1x5 sets

clean and push jerk
207.5 x0 (failed on the jerk)
x0 failed on the clean
x0 failed on the clean.

Mangina flared up and I quit for the day. Lower back is not killing me, but is kicking me in the shins pretty hard.
