I’m not sure, but I think you might be doing the same rowing with your arms thing that I’m doing, instead of extending the knees. But yours look a lot better than mine!
It all happens pretty fast, but I don’t feel like I’m pulling with my arms any more. I was guilty of that in the beginning (like everybody). No, I think I’m still not finishing my 2nd pull and that’s because my butt is coming up just a slight bit before my shoulders when initiating the 2nd pull. I’m butt-challenged right now I think, not firing the glutes enough at the right time.

Snatch Pull to Knees + Snatch
137 1x5 (eventually)
Snatch
147.5 1x5 (again, eventually)
Polish Presses
145 3x3,5,6
Squats
315 3x2
345x1
275x8
I’m doing something wrong on snatches - that bar is going straight up and down and so ends up forward. It needs to come back more on the second pull. I’ve got plenty of height, but because it’s too far forward I can’t get under it stably. Just felt ‘off’ today.
Polish press - I dropped weight and I want to do more reps there.
Squats - felt like hitting a daily max. Made up the last set with a lighter higher rep set.
Nice work on the squat max!
I am slowly finding all the O-lifting logs here on the forum. Hope to keep following. May I ask how long you’ve been doing the lifts (too lazy to search the log(s))?

Onward and upward…
Thanks. Slowly working it back up. I’m not used to doing heavy squats at the end of a training session so I was plenty pleased with it. Be nice to get it back up to 375.
I’ve been fiddling with the lifts since the middle of last December, but got a coach about a month and a half ago.
Thanks for dropping in. You’ve made some big progress since last year.
i don’t know. you could try posting some vids on the Oly forum and asking for feedback over there. I’ve found that really helpful, anyway.
With the caveat that I don’t really know what I’m doing… I wonder what would happen if you set up with your hips a bit lower so your torso was more vertical. I’ve been trying that… Makes the pull feel really hard… But sometimes the bar path feels pretty good if I actually do manage to extend properly from there.
I think I’ve started trying doing what you are doing with respect to kind of running the bar along the inside of the legs. Helps get the knees out of the way!
nice work , how is soreness recovery-
has more frequency helped or hurt recovery?
Thank you. They’re still mushy but I think I figured out how to make them less so and miss fewer of them.
I’m not so much sore as I am achey. I’ve pushed assistance work too much (again) and so recovery has suffered. I’m dialing back the assistance again and will be pushing the main lifts as much as possible. I really need to shoot for fast and good form on the assistance stuff, not weight primarily.

Hey Tony, your coach is paying dividends and your lifts are really fun to watch; especially the progress you are making. Great job on the meet.
Its nice to win, but I’d like to win on bodyweight rather than bodyweight AND age. The age coefficient is a leveller, but I want to be strong for my size rather than for my geriatry (is that a word?).
Took a bunch of yard apes to the beach, made driftwood sculptures amd dug deep holes. Back was very tired by the time I got to working out. Excellent session. All but one of the jerks was crisp and good. Couple of the heavier cleans were out of the groove, but got 'em up nonetheless.
