Until the Wheels Fall Off

Might be employed. Offer letter is promised to arrive next week and the new office location is a little over a mile from Catalyst Athletics (olympic lifting club).

I must think on this…

Congratz! Hope your commute will be reasonable.

The gym sounds like your kind of place.

Nice job on the, er, job!
Well, no more sitting around eating bonbons and watching your ‘stories’ on TV.

Hey, congrats about the job. Thats got to a relief.

I like the sound of this. Guy, a bit down on his luck, looking for work, gets a job offer near Olympic lifting Club. Just hanging around in the parking lot (do you like the way I’m dropping in the American words for things now?) in his lunch hour, when out comes Glenn Pendlay type character talking on his cell phone (there I go again), “yeah, Jon North’s just blown his knee out, yeah and the f***king Olympics start tomorrow and we’re a lifter down”. Suddenly notices fit looking guy, nonchalantly doing lunges by dumpster. “Hey kid! Do you ever do any lifting?”

Cut to Rocky style montage…

Kind of like Flashdance, but with snatches and stuff.

You are too funny.

There is some confusion between California Strength and California Athletics, which is why CA calls itself Cathletics a lot of the time. I do wish I was young and good enough to lift for Pendlay over in San Ramon, though. What an adventure that would be.

Congrats on the job. What kind of work?

The best kind: It’s work for which I get paid.

Database administration. I think I’m going to get to set up a data warehouse from end to end. That would be a ton of fun. I’m already researching tools for that, though I don’t start till July 5.

Great news about the job!

I’m guessing it’s a good thing that I have no idea who B & S are?

Imo, there is no way on earth that you will not accidentally find yourself wandering by CA, and decide on a whim, of course, to check out what’s going on inside…

Great news about the job Tony! I know that is a big load off your mind… And soon to be on your mind!

Really awesome news, DCA! Super happy for ya.

Thanks all - it’s certainly a load off my mind.

Clean and Press (squat clean)
135 1x4 sets
135 2x8 sets

High Bar squats
255 2x10 sets

Opting for volume. Rows tomorrow. I will be one big sore muscle two days from now.

Nice work and awesome news on the j.o.b.

Nice work on the work, and the lifting looks good as always.

Weren’t there snatches in Flashdance?

Hey Tony, I read Greg’s book (I think he owns Catalyst?) on oly technique. Also, I read on some former crossfitter’s blog that they have some ranking lifters at Catalyst? If that is the case, you would be queen of the dumbasses for not lifting there.

Queen. heheheh. I called you a queen…

I would sell my mother to the gypsies to lift at a gym like that. Or for a really good pie.

edited for spelling

Almost trained yesterday, but I laid down and rested until the urge passed.

'Ya know that 'yer new “log” title is both a pun and an oxymoron?

Thanks for the complements.

Glad that annoying urge passes…
