Until the Wheels Fall Off

Deep thought for the day:

Husbands are stronger than horses, because you can’t run a horse at a gallop all day

Rehab sucks. But how about attacking it with the same rabid ferocity you applied to your Oly lifts?

It’s hard to be ferocious about a 95 lb lunge…

now go be ferocious with that 95lbs lunge

(I started with the pics in Joe’s log cause US was giving Git some in his log and he said “Git gets all the girls”. Babies

What the hell! The definition of sheer beauty

Thank you, Ms. Mainy. That made my day.

Look who’s competing in Olympic lifting again

Monster!

I love Koklyaev. Amazing athlete and always so jolly and likeable. Great role model.

wow. it didn’t even look like he was trying (in the sense that it was hard or heavy). easy. amazing.

Argy. Injuries. Seems like they’re going around right now.

I struggle with the sport of powerlifting sometimes. The ridiculousness of pushing one’s body to the max. And then beyond. And sometimes getting hurt in the “pushing beyond” part. But I can’t seem to stop.

Dang man, sorry to read about your back. Hopefully you can get past and carry on with your training.

Now that is a lovely picture that Frenchie dropped here.

heal harder

Just shows the effectiveness of an application of a fine whine.

2011-6-3

Deadlifts (hooked, no belt)
w/u 4" deficit up to 315x3
367 1x5 sets

OHP
156 1x5 sets

Pendlay rows
186 3x5 sets

Close grip bench(paused, ring finger on smooth)
186 3x5 sets

Everything except DL felt easier today - even with the extra time off. No belt on DL probably made it harder.

were you going beltless on purpose?

When I’m feeling strong I will ramp up and add my belt at a higher weight than I usually would have in the past with deads. 225 was signal for belt. Now I might add it at 235-255. I feel its really adding to my core strength and over all pull numbers.

glad to hear some of this is feeling good.

Yeah - I wanted to get a sense of where my low back was without support. It was nice to know I could handle the weight without a belt, though things feel funky back there.

Sorry to read about your back. Glad you’re on the mend.

Thanks Eco - it would probably get better faster if I started lifting again… I’ve been such a schlub the last few weeks.
