disappointing 1st for buffalo, Ottawa’s looking sharp

I still love Don Cherry. Even though he sort of abandoned us after Stevie retired. He’s a huge Yzerman fan. Buffalo managed to keep it within one, but the Sens came out of the gate with the muzzle velocity of a 7mm Remington Magnum.

After a comatose PP the Sabres tie it.

Despite getting thirteen shots on miller in the second no goals for Ottawa. Miller is playing well. I say this game goes to overtime but I have my Ottawa jersey and hat on so hopefully they can pull it out.

I also started growing my playoff beard on day 1 of the playoffs. Can you tell I am Canadian?

Other than killing power plays the Sen’s didn’t look in control during the second… they’ll have to find a way to change that.

I agree. They have allowed Buffalo to arm wrestle that early control away from them. Fairly even so far in the third.

EDIT:
Saprykin gets the go ahead goal for Ottawa.

OTTAWA TAKES THE LEAD!!!

It’s going to be wild from here to the end of the game!

It may just be their turn to make it to the finals. I picked them to win this series, though it should be tight. Really it doesn’t matter to me which team my beloved Red Wings have to beat for another cup =]

The Sens have a pretty firm grip now. 4-2

5-2 final. Go Sens Go!

Phew, now I can relax! They withstood a serious onslaught and came away with more goals… very good sign.

Damn! I was on the road all night. Was it a real good game?

Nice to see the fourth line chipping in.

Not a bad game overall from a guy without a real favorite. For Ottawa fans it was a great game. Never really was any danger of Buffalo winning though they had their moments.

Only one team on the ice showed up to play, the Senators deserved that win. Sabres better take it as a wake up call for the rest of the series.

The Wings are playing good and winning by a goal despite being badly outshot.

Still 1-0 Wings after 2 and I think were getting them frustrated. However another whole period so no time to lay back.

EDIT:
Tie game =[

EDIT 2:
UGLY GOAL, but 2-1 Wings!!!

BITE KICK AND SCRATCH!!! WINGS WIN!!!

What a game! I could barely watch the last few minutes of the game when Lang got the hooking penalty and then Zetterberg had to sit after sending the puck over the glass. Oh, my nerves!

Can’t wait for game 2 on Sunday…just 7 more wins to go.

So it’s going to be Hasek against the Ducks? No problem. Ducks already took out 2 goalie-based teams.

Sure the Wings have a couple of other players, but tonight was all Hasek. Reminds me of the '98 Olympics (tear).

We should enact mandatory retirement at age 40, because no 42 year old should play that well at any position in any sport, let alone the one that requires the greatest quickness and agility.

Here’s a tribute to tonight’s game.
